Crypto markets down, first thought: SHIT... Second thought: well, maybe this is an opportunity. Third thought: EOS costs €6 today, which is nearly 3 times below the level which I was not even considering a sale. So I said: f..k it, and loaded some fresh EOS tokens to my crypto portfolio and I'm pretty content with my decision and the opportunity the markets gave me today :)
Can EOS go even lower? It surely can, however we should remember, there are hundreds of dapps being prepared to run on EOS and each dapp developer will need to stake EOS in order to run their app. There's a real life use case for owning EOS, which is not the case with majority (if not all) of other crypto currencies.
So... I guess I just wanted to share with you this exciting info :)
Have a good day!
Most commentators, me included expected a drop after the mainnet launch, maybe just not that much delayed. Well of course now coincides with btc weaknesses am most eos infrastructure and institutions in their infancy. What'll make a difference is the rapid development, I already received a few doorsteps and they are visible on the updated wallet. So looking to grasp remaining funds myself.
Hi @conceptskip
Why did you expected a drop after the mainnet launch? Did you expect that many other investors would only purchase EOS aiming to sell it right after that event?
Cheers, Piotr
Yes, an old inveestment advice goes by "Buy the rumour, sell the news" and it's ecxactly what happened with eos. We now have a only nascent infrastructure and all the promised dapps and lease options are still lacking.
Yeah, there's a bit of fear flying around that the project will fall apart, but I'm positive. The governance problems will get sorted and user experience will surely increase.
There's also the thing about airdrops, 20+ dapps have or will airdrop tokens based on the initial snapshot, so tokens bought after the launch will not entitle new owners to these airdrops. At the other hand, this is just few apps, there will be more. And the most awaited dapp by @dan likely to go live before the end of this year. This will be huge one.
As regards a possible break apart of the EOS community i am thoroughly relaxed. Don't forget it's currently just children playing. Once the grown-ups fear their platform go down the drain, they will put their tools to use:
that is indeed great saying :)
"Buy the rumour, sell the news"
Love it!
True enough, it seem to be a great time to purchase some EOS if you really so bullish on that project @voluntary-io
Timing is right, but lately I've read that "EOS will confiscate your tokens if you HODL for too long". Basically if you keep your EOS for longer than 3 years then you will be robbed by EOS and they will steal all your resources. That's how I understood it.
You mind telling me what is your view on it? It definetly made EOS look really bad.
Obviously upvoted. Cheers mate
Yours
Piotr
That seem correct. You'll need to make a transaction once in 3 years in order to keep tokens. It's enough to vote once in 3 years.
My concerns are a bit different. What if I will get into accident and I would end up in hospital (in coma)? I would wake up and all my resources would be gone already.
Anyway thx for sharing, Piotr
This is no longer valid. The rule has been taken out based on bad feedback. So you'll be good, even in a come :)
