As Damian sat down that day he knew from the look of his room that things weren’t right anymore despite all his struggle to make end meet. All his plight and ambitions keeps getting dashed against the rock of disappointment upon rejection, sorrowfully and depressingly laden with backwardness. He just couldn’t take it any longer. His going to church hasn’t helped too. It’s either the preacher was lying to Him or there is no God din heaven to look up to. Maybe God hates him, who knows, from the look of things it seems so while others were making it, getting rich with ease and hammering a good job with them intimidating testimony every Sunday. Damian still couldn’t believe after many amen, I receive it! I claim it! Shouting Halleluyah on top of his voice and screaming loudly in prayer. He still hadn’t made a step forward. Or maybe there is a step forward and he hasn’t seen it.
He looked into the room one more time and felt tears one more time, his portion was just around the corner, a portion to end it all. A poison. He just couldn’t take another day of rejection again. And like a warrior ready to go into a battle he’s fully ready for and with an eye straight up in victory. Damian moved the drink to himself and closed his eyes, one thing he forgot to do was lock the door. But that just a distraction in itself not able to change the cause of what is about to happen. The bigger picture is that he is not prepared for what is on the other side. He didn’t know where he’s going after here and no one dares told him he’s about to take a train to hell.

I don’t think he knows too. He didn’t know, his preacher didn’t tell him about a most Holy God who created both the heavens and the earth, and made hell too for transgressors. While his preacher preached all day about prosperity and psychology that has plagued Christianity of the modern age in place of fervency in prayer. He forgot about the salvation of souls, the message of sanctification and baptism of the Holy Ghost. The crucial goal of heaven and the way to get there, he forgot to tell them this. So what would you expect from expect from Damian. He is yet to know his God.
He dragged the portion closer and for one last time opened his mouth to gulp it in in full.

Interesting! I have been in several churches who preach about everything under the sun, except for salvation! Nice story!
Poor Damian. Surely there’s always something better than suicide.
