if upgrade fails for unknow reason, please give it few hours, sometimes it takes upto 24 hours until update is distributed across Apple servers. Few users last time had upgrade issues, but after restart it got resolved.
More exciting changes
v1.2.1 is almost ready to push forward. Currently, doing few more tests, this version will also blow your mind with improvements and neat features that gives you joy while using it :-)
Feedbacks
Thank you for all users who are giving valuable feedback and with each new update, app is getting more stable.
iOS users, please give your feedback on this version so that v1.2.1 can include improvements. There are few already been patched on v1.2.1 thanks to Android users, hope if we discover more iOS specific issues, that will get patched as well.
Follow @good-karma for future updates and don't hesitate to leave review on Google Play or iOS App Store.
EDIT: App is opensource and in case you are worried about your passwords please check

Note: Are you concerned about your private key or password? post about security.
Using it now! Very cool. Tons of work has clearly already gone into this and I know it will keep getting better and better. Great job! I'm glad I was able to authenticate with my posting login only. I tried updating my profile picture but didn't realIe that required an active key (does that go on the blockchain?) I'd love to see a pop up window for active key interactions, just like the website. Also, when I clicked on a post with a steemitimg link, it opened up in such a way that I couldn't get back to the app. I had to close it down and open it again. I tried saving the noticication settings and it hasn't taken yet, but I'll keep trying. I hope that's some useful IOS feedback for you.
Great work!
Oh, also, I've noticed the vote doesn't always go through and if it fails, it fails silently. I've tried three times to upvote your post. The spinner image freezes and then goes away.
Edit: ah, I see the "done" bar at the bottom of the screen now. I expect that at the top since that's become the standard iOS approach. Also, if a comment edit fails, the edit appears to be lost (just happened to me here). The screen locks a bit when doing votes/posts/edits so it might be good to show a loading screen or something.
Thank you Luke, indeed valuable feedback! Probably should have mentioned it again, please login with master password that should work and should solve some of the issues you have been having. Although it works with only posting key, app really uses master password to generate other keys, and it assumes that you log in with master password. Perhaps I will improve it to handle it better. Master password is needed for number of occasions, update account, follow/unfollow, transfer etc. So instead of asking all keys separate, master password should solve all issue. Notifications settings probably didn't save for that reason as well. Please try with password and see some these issues are gone. Also upcoming v1.2.1 has some improvements on voting and posting, I will shortly push them to the stores as well, so far testing and a lot small issues that 1.2.0 had is gone. I will also include user feedback from 1.2.0 to improve 1.2.1 further before sending an update.
Edit: yes profile picture url goes to blockchain, as for voting and posting there is major fix coming on 1.2.1. I found that handling connection on mobile devices different than PC. So there is connection issue when phone goes background. Have tried different methods to handle this, try to keep connection on, didn't work. Try to disconnect and reconnect didn't work as expected. But finally found a way to handle it so it is now working perfect also saves bandwidth. It is coming on 1.2.1
I'm a little old school when it comes to security and don't really feel comfortable giving my master password to anyone (including Steemit.com). I'm confused why a follow would require a master password if Steemit.com does not? I think replicating the Steemit.com interface which prompts for active password when needed is a much more secure way to go and builds confidence in your platform. Too many people take online security way too simply, and it's up to us as developers to educate them about password management software, the dangers of password reuse, and of only allowing access to the bare essentials when integrating with third party systems. Once again though, great work. I'm looking forward to the updates and more consistent functionality with only the posting password.
Thanks, you are right. But do you think majority non crypto people understand it? From UX point shouldnt it be more user friendly when they only required to enter password once and app takes care of everything else. Yes, some people was also concerned and main password. App is opensource and it connects to server of choice. There is extra pin code security in place. Let's take it to steemit.chat, would love to hear your thoughts on how it can be achieved...
The pin does help as far as it having your master password in there, so maybe that's enough. I still think the option to only give your posting password is an important one. If they aren't using the crypto features and are just posting, commenting, and voting, they shouldn't have to care about the active or owner passwords. If they are messing with the crypto side of things, I think they should care about the various levels of security and take them seriously. I think the Steemit website took the same approach. I'll try to catch you on chat so we can discuss further.
Great to see the updates keep coming!
I'm not an iOS user but I imagine that a wider eSteem user base will be very good for the Steem based community as a whole!
Thanks, those updates already available on Android though, if you are Android user. More exciting changes are coming :-)
I thought so. I have the Android version installed and it rocks! =)
Glad to hear that, notifications, are you receiving them? Any comments on performance or any suggestions?
Ok. So I have an amateur bug report. (Any specific questions, just ask)
Most of the app works really well, even though any visible animations greatly slow things down for me until they're out of sight. I'm on a very cheap phone though, so that's to be expected.
Potential bugs/issues:
1 The estimated value of my account is given as $4.602, when on steemit.com it is reported as being $6.33. Steem, Steem$ and Steem Power are all correctly reported though.
2 The message box with an "OK" to tap doesn't always go away. Sometimes it's just stuck, as if codewise it was actually somehow hidden under everything else but only "looked" as if it was on top.
3 I can't change my picture no matter how I try. When I think the app is about to show that the picture changed, it just takes me back to the splash screen or the home page.
4 Viewing feeds, blog, post and replies works great. I even recieve the notifications, but when I try to view the answers that I've recieved to a comment it seems they were either just the comment written by myself popping up in my phone (I'm logged in and writing on my computer, even as I test the app) or the app just won't show me anything but my original post.
5 I've tried to write two comments on separate blog posts so far, but the message just dissapears and I'm back to the authors post. Upvoting posts that I like seems to work as it should though.
--- This is from using a cheap Galaxy model SM-J100H, with Android 4.4.4 if it makes any difference.
Hopefully you will be able to make use of the information. I still think we've seen really good progress considering how young Steemit still is. =)
[older post] So far, I've been using it without my user credentials just to be on the safe side... But you know what: Here goes.
Just logged in for the first time and it looks even more awesome. I will test it out and let you know how it feels. =)
Updated post for security concerned users. You don't have to be developer to check it.
Thanks that's very helpful, and yes few issues got fixed on 1.2.1 and your other notes, I will test and improve them. In couple days Android will get update ;-)
Great. Installing ...
Thanks for comment. Let me know if you have notifications working, because I was only able to test it on couple devices. On side menu bottom it should say version 1.2.0, and you can go Settings page and enable notifications
Great news. Thanks!
Thanks! Let me know if you have any feedback on changes..
Is it a hybrid app??@good-karma
yes
The app is good but lacks in performance. I was thinking of developing native app. Is it a good idea? @good-karma
Performance is being improved with each update... In fact I would love to see native app, it will bring more users and also I could compare performance and improve... Just showing list of posts had very fast performance but with adding more functionality and tasks, app can require newer/faster device. But still it is running decent in my opinion and improvements are coming... Especially in upcoming v1.2.1
great work as always, Feruzm.
Thanks!
I downloaded the app and used it the first day with no problem. Today, after the update, I'm having challenges logging in. I used my private key to log into the website no problem, and cut and paste into the app to make sure I was using the correct login information.
Any challenges with logging in? Help please!
Hello, thanks for comment. Are you using your main password that you use on Steemit.com? Please try with master password, your main login credentials, hope that solves the issue. Let me know
I am. I'm using the same password that I log into the website with.
Do you get any error messages? What device are you on, iOS/Android?
I didn't change anything, and now I'm logged in. It was like it was just taking a very long time to log in.
I'm glad it's working now! Look forward to more updates and thank you for making an awesome app!
Oh great, follow and look out for v1.2.1 because that come with major fix on posting and voting...
