I told you I can walk right past chocolate in the supermarkets without missing a beat didn't I? Same goes for 'stuff' (as nice as it is) if I don't need it. I have de-cluttered to the point of having to start all over again when returning home after living in China, and am surprised at how we hoard 'things' we never use. I'm a very practical 'girl' at heart........might be one of the reasons John and I are still together after a bunch of decades. 😁
Sounds like Mrs. J. Nothing tempts her. I mean she even hates shopping. lol. Ok...well...Now you got me super curious, what were you doing in China and how long were you there??
I don't hate shopping but I know my limits. I had a feeling you were going to ask me about China. It's another long story but the simple version is this. We taught English after doing a Tesol course and did two stints which lasted 12 months in total.
Ok so you boiled down a long story into one sentence, that is a gift! lol..by "we" you mean you and John? You're both teachers? My grammar is pretty redneckish, now I'm going to be self conscious! lol.
That is a gift for one who finds herself writing long winded replies when a couple of sentences would suffice. 😊
John and I are not teachers. The Tesol (Teaching English To Speakers Of Other Languages) courses are pretty basic and it was enough to get us into China and work there for a year. Nowadays, people require degrees to qualify, so I guess we were pretty lucky to get such a wonderful opportunity to live alongside the Chinese people and experience that very interesting culture when we did.
Oh how interesting! Do you have tons of pictures and do you do posts about it? I can't imagine what that was like. Were the people wonderful and were you able to find out what their impression of America was?
