#Cemeteryphotos Challenge by @melinda01010
I've used the tag #cemeteryphotos. If you have some cemetery photos, use the tag and feel free to post your photos or links in the comments and I'll do my best to upvote them.
The village of Castans is a small village located in the south of France in the department of Aude of the french region Languedoc-Roussillon.
Years ago, while traveling in Portugal, we met another traveler who was retiring from his job in London and was considering buying a house in the south of France. We kept in email contact and after he found the house he wanted to purchase and moved there we received an invitation to come visit. We planned a day out of our holiday to go and see him and fell in love with the village and the Black Mountains and returned several times.
On one of the day trips to explore the area we came upon this old church and cemetery.
We had so many fun experiences in Castans, including visiting Gouffre Géant de Cabrespine, which is one of the largest caves in France, and being invited for dinner in the homes of several villagers.
There was a lovely gite (guest house) in Castans, which made visiting there nice. Our friend's new house was quite small and the bathroom was on the other side of the garden, where we occasionally saw vipers. I would have been too terrified of the snakes to go out there after dark!

Thanks, luv! I wish I could retrace my travels with the camera I have today! I remember when I took those I thought that they were some of the best photos ever! It was one of my first digital cameras and I was so impressed with it! Looking back at them now I just feel like they're really primitive!

I have so many great stories from Castans. I just wish the photos were as great as the stories! These were taken with one of my first digital cameras and looking back on them now I wonder why I ever thought they were just the best photos ever! It makes me wish I could go back again.

The cemetary looks particulary spooky at this time of year.

Thanks! It is a lovely a beautiful area. Those old digital cameras really were lacking compared to what we have today.
That's how things are usually, but still, be grateful that you have these photos on digital support and not paper or film. Now you can work with them.
That is so true! I have boxes full of old film photos that I keep saying I I am going to scan in, but somehow it never happens.
I had a scan once and scanned all I have on film. These are deteriorating day by day.
I have scanned many of them, but it takes so long to do. I scanned a bunch of my grandparents old black and white photos that were important to me. But there is still many more in the suitcase that I have full of their old photos. And then I have all of my mom and dads. And boxes of photos from when my kids were little. I just need to do a few at a time and I'll have a few more done right?
You should scan the rest as well! Ask your daughter and grandkids to help. Photos on paper are fading day by day. And the film is not any different either.

Hey how are you? I've been so far behind my steemit routine from working on our property, last night when I started to go to your blog it was 12:30am! so sorry I missed you and time got away from me again tonight but not quite as bad!
Thanks. Those are old photos and those first digital cameras just don't even compare to what we have these days. It would be so much fun to go back and do all those places with the camera I have now.
I wasn't around much yesterday either I watched the Packer game and tried to get over the loss, and just could not get excited about making comments.
Then today got busy with household things my garage door quit working the opener would not make the door go up and down. And since my ramp is in the garage that's my usual way to get in and out of the house. So I spent the morning trying to make arrangements for someone to come and do repairs and of course can't get anyone here until tomorrow.
And I had to make phone calls to the man who plows my snow all winter, to talk to him about some drainage issues that I have had and try to come up with a plan for where he can pile the snow from out of the driveway to help with the water issue that I end up having in the spring if the snow is piled too high in the wrong spot. So he's coming out next week to put the markers along the edge of the driveway so he can see where it is when the snow gets deep and work out a plan for making snow piles! That was kind of a depressing phone call , too!
All my comments today have been one or two liners so that's why you're getting this book!
haha! I like books! yes you need to make up some ground so this is good! I'm sorry the Packers lost, who did they lost to? and was it close or a depressing blowout?
Packers 27 Rams 29. It was kind of a crazy game.
I did get out of the house for a little while today to take a few pictures of what may be the last of the fall color that we have here in the neighborhood. And since it's probably the last sunny day we are going to have all week I may have to use those photos for my Wednesday walk post because it sounds like it will be raining from now until Wednesday!
oh I'm sorry about the game, those close ones are worse than the blowouts I think because in the blowouts you aren't all tensed up wondering if they can score again, you just sort of give up in depression! lol.
It's a good thing about taking those pictures today, pretty smart.
Weather here has been perfect, about 80 degrees and sunny but it's supposed to rain on Wednesday.

oh I understand, sorry I started so late tonight. But yes I got alot of mowing done and we went into town, grocery shopping, went to vote also. I haven't been away from the computer for that long since I started steemit.
The Stone houses in France overlooking the hills is stunning. The cemetery is just one of those things that I have a kinship with. I love them all and there is always something that draws me to them. I have tried posting into your cemeteryphoto tag, but, I may have used the wrong tag.
Oops! I have to look them up again.
Gorgeous shots and I know exactly what you mean about taking pictures and wanting to go back and retake with a decent camera. Amen to that.
