Grace Token - The Future of Charitable Giving

in #ethereum7 years ago

With all of the recent natural disasters happening around the world, particularly with the hurricane devastation in places like Puerto Rico, Texas, Florida and Caribbean Islands, there has been a large calling for donations and support for these areas.

There are many worthwhile, legitimate organizations that are helping with the recovery efforts. Money is flowing in from around the world. The sad thing though, is that there are also warnings of fraudulent schemes during these times. People try to take advantage of others and either misdirect funds, steal them altogether or use them for alternative purposes. I have even seen stories about the Red Cross, an organization that most people trust and promote, where even they aren't very transparent or responsible with their use of funding. It seems like a perfect use case for using cryptocurrency.

This is why the Grace token caught my attention. The team is building a charity giving platform based on the ethereum blockchain that not only establishes a fully secure and safe method of giving to charitable causes, it incentivizes advocates and maximizes the amount of potential fundraising.

The initial presale of the token (GRCE) has recently ended and the public crowd-sale will begin on November 1.

I encourage you to check out their website and whitepaper. I think that they have a great idea that could truly solve some real world problems. There are many details about the token and project outlined in the links above. The team behind the project has a solid vision and roadmap. See their infographic below that details many of the benefits of the Grace platform.

Thoughtful post. Most of us don't have to look very far from home to have our mercy called. Even huge disasters can be addressed through communities and churches for example that are right there and have no hidden agenda or overhead. They also tend to be direct with no red tape.

Thanks for the reply. I agree, there are many good ways to give back, especially locally like you said. It was cool to see a potential blockchain solution although you could also technicaly do P2P bitcoin or ETH transactions. Will be interesting to see how Grace tokens work out.
