You brought up a very good point @exyle about not being afraid to speak your mind. A lot of people are afraid to step on someone else's toes in fear of a whale or someone powerful getting revenge. As a result, people become mellow and don't want to voice their thoughts completely out of fear.
People need to step up; especially at a time like this. If we don't see good results, people should be held accountable and called out. I urge everyone to do the best they can to not get caught up in hope and circlejerking. Instead, we as a community need to get together and confront those that don't mean what they say or say what they mean. This could be Steemit Inc., certain witnesses, other content creators, etc.
This is an opportunity for us that want steem to succeed to get stronger, while at the same time weed out the freeloaders.
