Hey guys!
I'm about cutting my hair to allow it grow over again.
Told my mom, and heh! She's freaking out already.

Apparently, according to our culture, ladies are not allowed (or should I say encouraged) to cut their hair unless in extreme cases. Loss of a husband or child, so basically...when mourning.
It is commonly believed that a woman's beauty is for her husband only and when he dies, her hair is shaved (and in a rough way) to make her feel less complete or irrelevant since her duties as a wife is no longer useful.

Really when I think of some of our old traditions, I wonder what was going through the minds of those that set those rules. What does a woman's hair have to do with her husbands death🙄

Thinking of a new look for August and the rest of an already overwhelming 2020 and the last thing I'm going to be worried about is a bunch of ridiculously stated traditions filled with absurdities😌
Having a haircut could also mean trying to create a new start in life...either you changed location, broke off from a previous relationship or yearning for something different. Personally, I just need the new growth, as the last time I had one, i was ten. Now my hair has to be relaxed at least three times a year for me not to go crazy. Also, I'm trying to escape exposure to all these chemicals and go for the more natural look.
If a haircut was suggested to you...what would your reaction be??
Enjoy the rest of your day!
