Ghostbusters Movie Review

in #film8 years ago (edited)

Thinking about checking out Ghostbusters this weekend? Maybe you should...

Despite some harsh criticism this flick had me laughing my butt off from the opening scene.

I've been a Ghostbuster since I was a little kid. Not a fan... a real one.

Yes, I said REAL one... My momma found a corduroy jumpsuit at the thrift store, yanked off the patches, added my name and I blasted thru the streets on Halloween with my proton pack. That in itself makes me qualified enough to advise you to check this movie out. As much as I wanted them to continue with Ghostbusters 3, I was forced to accept the reboot with an all female cast and hope for the best. The writers did not disappoint and as a matter of fact, Kate Mckinnon steals the whole dam movie... then again, when doesn't she?

She plays this super goofy female version of Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) but looks like the 80's cartoon Egon

SERIOUSLY WTF KATE MCKINNON

I've never seen anybody nail a cartoon character's looks as perfect as she did aside from the obvious storyline itself.. that's kind of creepy.

Leslie Jones was a nice surprise and had me cracking up along with Chris Hemsworth who's character is freaking retarded as fu** and I mean that in the most hilarious way.

As for the tag team duo Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig.. well they are "aight" more so, Melissa McCarthy's character but I feel like I'v seen enough of them both in dam near every other big film that came out the past couple of years. What more can you say... they did what they do best. As for the original cast.. they make their little cameos thru out the course of the film including the late Harold Ramis. The only one missing unfortunately, was Rick Moranis who I was really hoping would come out of retirement for this movie.

The one thing I definitely took notice of was the detail of the ghost and the interesting choice of color used in the graphics. There is some pretty clever tricks and new styles that caught my attention enough that I'm anxious for someone to release a youtube video of how to replicate some of the effects used. The coolest effect I seen was in the credits that reacted to the little dance number that plays out thru the end.

I do have to say that I was very impressed with the new storyline and if you are a Ghostbusters fan you might even consider there was a lot of ideas that Dan Akroyd wanted to explore in the 80's that Paul Feig took into consideration for this version.

All in all this movie is a must see and has my 2 thumbs up. I didn't know what to expect with an all female cast, reboot but me and my son laughed our butt off from start to finish. So go check out Ghostbusters and see for yourself and be sure to stay till the very end as there is one final surprise and you won't regret it.

As for me.. this is my first ever movie review and I was even considering doing a video.. Let me know what you guys think and/or if you agree with my rating..

Till Next Time...

trailer is so good :)

Ajay the movie is great. I look forward to the sequel

I love the trailer I have to see it now so funny.

Go see it. You won't be disappointed.

never forget

I'm a big Bill Murray fan.. yes the man is legendary. He sort of returned to that old style of humor in "Rock The Kasbash" which was actually a pretty good movie too.. Unsure why it didn't do well
