Hello all, today's blog is written by my friend and a fellow steemian @socialintrovert . She is a very interesting person and her stories are both hilarious and painful at the same time. She wants to keep her identity a secret, just like superheros. Like any superhero @socialintrovert has superpowers, she can make you laugh and cry at the same time. Its an unbelievable power. Go and read her blogs, so that you know what I am talking. But, before that lets read read today's blog. Over to you @socialintrovert

Hello all, glad to be here. Lets get right into today's topic.
A superhero some might say or even a self-righteous fool, a vigilante is seen differently in the eyes of the differently trained minds. A strong believer in serving justice or just a dauntless man.
Being above the law is a power most people desire, but not everybody is authorized to hold such great power. To act in spite of the possession of that power feels like a forbidden fruit to most. Once he beholds this fruit he feels this great power coursing through his veins, an uncontrollable urge. A drug which makes you want more and only more, a fine line stands between the well known morale and his path to righteousness.
So let me finally get to the subject, Why are we so drawn to these characters? They hold a certain enigma and certain romanticism.
Let me touch the surface before getting to the core. Who doesn’t love “Spidey” swinging from one building to the others and saving innocent people from petty crimes like mugging, burglary and so on.
He simply carried on this duty installed upon him by himself to test his newly installed abilities initiated by a freak accident.
The real vigilante’s are those who take matters into their own hands when they feel that the government fails to do utmost justice.
If there any of you who love a true crime TV series I would strongly recommend “Dexter”. A personal favourite of mine. He just fortunately happens to be working for the Miami P.D. homicide, and a skilled examiner who gets down to the bottom of the trail of tracks, left behind by the murderer before the precinct even decides to act on the crime of passion.
Now how would these random acts of vigilantism be received in real life ?
So let me tell a story about a man named Michael Mullen. A story I came across on the web written by Robin Warder.
He claimed his vigilantism was inspired by the horrific crimes of one specific sex offender, Joseph Edward Duncan III. Another story for another time.
What do u think about vigilantism? Is it a good subject to base a character on for your next story?
@socialintrovert over and out!

well @nandan, i believe a superhero is a world of escapism where even a weak can overnight dream to be strong. These illusionary stories are vaccum of hope for the darkened world of time where a portal of power instills a new faith and confidence. That is why vigilantism takes the course of the story and it appeals more to the audience. We all dream to be part of such world because in those hours we watch the movie or a series we actually visualise our inner self and it appeals more as we feel empowered. This is what makes fantasy and adventure a great treasure to watch. Go through my blog on true love and ideology behind crypto-success.
Well said. @rainsa
Thank you.
Exactly! It's a form of escape from real life. Well said!
Great post, @nandan!
Thanks @socialintrovert
So, I absolutely love superheroes, and there's definitely something to be romanticised on about being able to perform acts others can't. But I guess the problem with vigilantes is (as Batman always says, sometime or the other) how do you stop them when they go on the other side of the law, or public opinion? And how can we trust their judgement will always be right? I believe every comicbook hero in every media has gone through this, making a bad call that results in someone getting hurt. Now that's all fine in books and films, but turn around and imagine you were actually the victim of such an error, with no hope of justice or reparation.
Yup... quite terrifying, isn't it?
Hey @petermarie , Nice observation. Its definitely is terrifying when you think about it. BTW, you have a very nice blog, I started reading your The Nuances of Marriage series. Its well written. :)
