Banded Multidirectional Planting Exercise

Banded Multidirectional Planting

I want to share with everyone a very beneficial exercise to improve change of direction during agilty. It also provides hip, knee, and ankle stability. The exercise is also great for increasing glute strength and improving plating the foot during quick movements. The type of band used should be proportional to your level of fitness.

Any basketball, soccer, football, tennis etc. players should pay special attention to this excerise.

Cover all directions on a clock.
9 o'clock, 12, 1:30, 3, 4:30, 6 and cross behind 7:30 o'clock

Keep posture in a partial squat position and engage the glutes at all times.
Repeat with the opposite leg.
3 sets per leg

Try this out and see if cutting and stop and go movements are easier on the field or court!

Seems to make pretty good sense, I got to get our soccer team doing that so that they can improve making quick turns to avoid losing the ball. Is that exercise specific to one sport?

Not at all. I didn't want to list every sport that could benefit from such an exercise. But anything that involves cutting or quick movements would benefit from this tremendously. Soccer and basketball tend to be the most popular ones.
