Exercising the Brain

This account is called fitlyfe but we are not just focused on physical fitness. We will be covering all aspects of the word "fit". Many people think of the perfect beach body when they hear the word fit, but did you know that just like exercising your muscles you can excersize your brain? Working out in the gym is great for retaining better physical health when you age but you can also do the same with your brain. Constantly exercising your brain can help you retain your memory and help prevent against things like dementia as you age. Your brain needs constant challenges and variation in order to exercise it. Having a routine that never changes will be too easy on your brain as it will adapt to that routine. Here are some easy ways to keep your brain in top-top shape!

  1. Learn an Instrument
  2. Try playing a new sport
  3. Take different routes on your commute home
  4. Try to solve riddles
  5. Do different Hand-Eye coordination challenges such as brushing your teeth with the opposite hand
  6. Play memory games
  7. Try taking a cooking class
  8. Do mental math instead of using a calculator
  9. Learn a foreign language

Do all of these things and you'll be on the path to having the fittest brain in town!
