RE: Does Low-Carb Hurt Your Physical Performance - Keto Cut Day 11 & 12

in #fitness7 years ago

I always thought that robbing the body of necessary carbs would be detrimental in the short term but would be balanced out medium term in the form of performance gained from cutting out the crap. Empty carbs is a concept that makes me question everything I eat now!

Also, I keep looking at your weight goals and thinking that, as your performance at the gym improves, you will see the gains in the form of denser and heavier muscle.

How you feeling lately? Ready to run a marathon?

Yeah, conventional wisdom would lead us to believe that less carbs = less energy = lesser performance but it turns out to not be true (and in fact could be the exact opposite)... if you’re carbs are low enough to get your body keto-adapted then you can easily see a spike in sustained energy throughout the entire day! I feel pretty energetic no matter what the time is and cutting out empty carbs definitely has a positive effect on insulin levels!

Yeah I’ve definitely gained muscle mass over the past year, though progress has been much slower because I’ve been lifting for a while now. “Noobie” gains are something I miss greatly!

Haha I don’t know about a marathon, but I do feel great and my cardio is definitely getting much much better! I’ve never been much of a runner, but I do want to run a marathon at some point!
