I know, I know it's a stupid question right? It's subjective so there can't be a correct answer. Right?
I'm asking it anyway because I want your opinion. I want to know what you think and why.
I started pondering this question because today while visiting a friend she had a "Bird of Paradise" plant in a pot by her front door. It was in full bloom and it got me thinking that whoever gave it that name, the "Bird of Paradise", must have thought that this was a top competitor for the most beautiful flower in the world!
The plant had 3 flowers in full bloom. I probably should have stepped back for a wider shot and showed them all to you!
Is What We Think is The Most Beautiful Flower Subjective?
Sure it's subjective but maybe if we took an extensive survey a clear winner would come into focus?
What Do The "Experts" Say?
I decide to Google " The World's Most Beautiful Flower.
This is a screen shot of the images. Some of them seem fake but there on the top right is the Bird of Paradise!
There are several sites with lists of the top ten or fifteen as well as some top 10-12 videos!
I looked at this list of the top 10: Top 10 Most Beautiful Flowers In The World and the one that struck me as the most beautiful there was this Water Lily which they had listed as the 6th most beautiful!
Photo Credit for Water Lily I think that what attracts me to this flower are the colors!
What Do You Think?
- What do YOU think is the most beautiful flower in the world?
- What about it attracts you? What makes it beautiful to you?
Thanks for following me on my travels and I look forward to sharing my adventures with you.
Until next time,

"Is What We Think is The Most Beautiful Flower Subjective?"
How can beauty be subjective? Wherever I go, any house, store washroom, hotel lobby, in whatever country I am in - ALL of the mirrors seem to agree that I am beautiful! If it was subjective, you would think that at least a few of them would reflect back some plain old Tim, Dick, or Harry image to me. Never happens!
You are a true and gorgeous exception to the rule!
I live for exceptions to rules. (There is a crack in everything. That's how the Light gets in)
Although they are very common flowers and practically fragrance-free, I love poppies because they brighten up the wheat fields (not treated with pesticides) and because of their fragility and simplicity.
Their red color conveys passion and to me, they are the symbol of summer.
Thank you for the interesting topic, @kus-knee! 🙏
You received an automatic upvote, because I believe in you and I love what you create! 😉
A huge hug from @amico! 🤗
😍 I love promoting @steembasicincome, even with #sbi-skip! 😜
Nice participation. Lovely flower!
For me, there's no doubt about it... Wisteria. A flower has to do more than just look good- it has to smell beautiful as well... and Wisteria has the others beat hands down.
Yeah, I love them too... both for their "posture" and for their wonderful fragrance!
I planted some outside my bedroom windows on a trellis so I could enjoy them as I went to sleep, but I could never get them to bloom. Then an old farmer told me to take a baseball bat or 2x4 and beat the crap out of the roots... sure enough the very next year I had beautiful wisteria!
You r a man of great taste. And sense of smell!
For sure @richq11 knows beauty when he sees it!
Great opinion. I love them too. We have the same color at our home here. Should be in full bloom in a couple of weeks.
When I lived in California we had a house with a big front porch that had wisteria hanging down... I still think about sitting out at night just enjoying that wonderful smell!
Apparently Wisteria scented shampoo is Biden’s favorite!
Hahaha... That's what Rosie said!
Excellent review @kus-knee and I think that every flower has its own beauty, but I like this one!
Amazing!!!!
I was going to say passiflora, but you beat me to it!
Hello.. :-)
@kus-knee
There are just so many beautiful flowers and I have many many favorites. I love my Morning Glories. Took this photo last year.
The picture of the water Lily is fabulous...! I have pond Lilies but not that color. Wish.
:D
Hey, I love these flowers: they are pretty common, here in Italy!
Hello :-)
@amico
They are beautiful and very easy to grow and love..!!!
Italy.. Wow..!
How I would love to travel there someday.
:D
Fantabulous!
Hello..
@kus-knee
:D
Fantabulous Beautiful... flowers there are. Thank you..!!!
Thanks for having a look!
I have traveled to many parts of the world and there is always something that reminds you of that place you have been and the beauty that brings you back to that place just by thinking about something special your saw there well in this case it was this beautiful unusual flower that i saw in a most beautiful park in Bangkok , these flowers grow out of what they call a Cannonball tree and this tree has literally Cannonballs hanging of this tree and when these Cannonballs break up i do think is were this awesome flower appears from. I love the color and geometrical shape of the flower petals.
That is so exotic. Alien like....thanks!
Sure does look Alien like one of them insect eaters ....lol :)
I didn't think I should have put a flower. Not the most beautiful in the world, but one that means something to me. I photographed this yesterday in the botanical garden of Iasi, Romania. It is a wild spring flower, I have seen many such flowers in my childhood, on a valley near my house, called Glimeii Valley.
Thanks for your memory!
My pleasure!
Ans : It looks like a beautiful peacock to me.
Yes it does!
This is my smartphone cacth sir :)
Thanks for the great pic!
Thanks for the background story.
Bleeding hearts sound so sad. Never heard it before.
Cherry blossoms is kind of nice in the way that I want to see to experience it myself because I haven't.
Overall, I'll got with the Lotus because of the purity it symbolizes. Just to be sure my previous post is on the blockchain.....
Happy.:-)
Good to know!
:-)
A question like this: What is the most beautiful ...? Has only subjective answers!
Only the one who saw all the flowers on the earth should answer ... and that would be subjective also, of course.
I pick Water Lilly, too.
Yes, the combination of colors, the fact that it is a flower of water (I like it all) and the fact that I have never seen (in reality) such a flower still brings some mystery.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment!
With pleasure!
I'm not sure...
I've always loved the "Bleeding Heart" and the "Cherry Blossom".
Roses, Tulips and Orchids are wonderful too but I think my absolute favorites would be Cherry Blossom and Bleeding Heart. I love the colors of them. I've never seen a Bleeding Heart in real life though and I think it's a shame they're toxic to both humans and animals.
I saw both of them and the lists. You must have good taste!
Haha yeah, perhaps. :D
OMG, you posted two awesome photos!
Thank you very much, @hitmeasap!
You're right, it is subjective and I love so many for different reasons. If I had to pick one, it would be the lotus for it's elegance, symmetry, and symbolism.
This quotation is attributed to the Buddha:
Its form is frequently found in Buddhist art, and it even inspired this Baha'i House of Worship.

Great choice, mate! ;)
Very cool background story to a beautiful flower!
The one that has never been seen.
That sounds mysteriously beautiful!
I didn't know the name but now is all clear:
Photo from Muttart conservatorium in Edmonton.
I always thought the flower was named the bird of paradise because it resembled a bird in flight. Maybe a hummingbird. To what flower I think is most beautiful. I am going to cheat and say whatever flower I am looking at in the moment. But if you were going to ask which one smells the best...lilac with freesia and tea roses as runners-up. Heavenly:):):)
Correct, correct and correct!
Yes it does look like a bird and therefore the name.
Hi, My friend. A beautiful shot from a flower. Honestly, I want to respond personally that Life is beautiful, it is like a flower garden, if it is often watered with clean water, the flowers will always be beautiful even in the dry season. But if the flower garden is watered with dirty water (waste, oil, etc.) the garden will look very ugly and even the flowers will die. Life is also like that, if often made positive things or good things, life is very beautiful. But if life is made ugly or evil then life feels bleak and can also be deadly. I also want to photograph a new flower in the rain.
Thanks for this My Friend
So true!

I love this flower

Nice one thanks!
Your photo of the bird of paradise is beautiful. I have to say the most beautiful flower in the world is in the eye of the beholder. To me, they are all the most beautiful in the moment I am viewing them.
Good point!
Hmmm.... Maybe you have found the basis for a new contest?
You may be onto something!
I like many flowers. However the rose is still my favourite. When the rain washed the petals and the droplets like little gems covered them - this is what I like the most.
You are not alone!
Asking a Ford guy, “what’s your favorite Chevy?” I like Tulips and Orchids

What a great answer!
I totally agree with you...there are plenty of beautiful flowers but the "Bird of Paradise" is one of my favorites, like you can see in this post from Malaga, Spain.
Thanks for having a look!
You are very welcome!

Great to know!
The water lily has a perfect symetry and a beautiful color too. l love orchids and my most loved a roses.
Resteemed :-)
Very nice!
Some years ago my daughter was growing the "Bird of Paradise" flowers commercially, in Darwin, Australia.
Her biggest problem was the snakes that would use the plants as a home and got annoyed when she went to pick the flowers.
Her best friend was the local snake catcher, who would relocate the offenders far away.
Sounds creepy!
@ kus-knee Hello dear friend. What a beautiful flower you share with us, This is also in this area of the world.
That is a difficult question to answer, because for each person can vary which is the most beautiful, I think they all have their charms and I think they are all very beautiful.
Thank you very much for sharing this beautiful photo
This is the image of a simile that I take here in my town
Thanks for having a look!
Well, I missed this but, honestly, I love them all!!
If I had to choose because I was forced to, the Bird of Paradise has always been an exotic beauty in my eyes, however, the water lily is always stunning to walk/drive by water and have flowers popping up there. The purple passion looks like something from down deep, fragile and beautiful, but, no apparent smell.
I have lilacs right outside my door and window and honestly, the fragrence is intoxicating and smells like summer.
Thanks for this post!

It’s a beautiful world if we take the time to appreciate it!
