Have you ever checked out steemwhales.com to see who has the most followers, the most money or the most blog posts?
I bet you have. We all have. Comparing ourselves to others seems to be a universal human trait.
Well, have you ever noticed that @joanaltres has more followers than anyone else on Steemit? She has 10,728 followers to be exact. She has more than @sweetsssj and more than @dollarvigilante. Have you ever seen her on the trending pages? Do you know who she is? I bet you don't. I didn't, but I have been curious about who @joanaltres is and why she has so many followers. She has more than double the amount of followers that I have, and I blog almost every day on Steemit. I've never actually seen one of her blogs before. Have you?
So who is she? What is her secret to having the #1 spot as far as Steemit followers?
I reached out to @joanaltres on Steemit Chat to get my nagging questions answered.
Here are her answers:
Q: How did you become the Steemian with the most amount of followers? Did you bring them from other social media sites?
@joanaltres: I did not bring them from other sites.
I might have a dozen or so that came over here from my mentions about Steemit in email marketing that I do and my social accounts, but most of the followers I have are from what I call “courtesy following”.
Courtesy following is different than “follow for follow” in that you don’t ask anyone to follow you. You simply follow them first, and some of them, usually out of courtesy, follow you back.
I started following people back in December of 2016 after my Mother had a stroke and the financial strain on me became burdensome to the point of putting me in financial ruin. Doing a lot of following was just a simple way for me to do something to put the situation out of my mind for a time. But I wasn’t an aggressive follower at that point. I would do it maybe two times a week.
When I got to the point of having about 1200 followers, I decided to resteem a post, and I saw the views, comments and upvotes for that post start going up immediately. I thought that was pretty cool, and it was from that point forward that I became more aggressive about following, so I could affect the outcome of some posts that I felt deserved more exposure and reward.
Q: Are you famous?
A: I’m definitely not famous and I’m not a big deal on Steemit at all.
And I don’t think my 10,000+ (currently) followers make me a big deal, either. And when I write a comment on a post, followed by my usual “Resteeming this to x-amount of followers”, I don’t do it to brag, but to cause a pleasant surprise for the author.
It’s almost like getting to play Santa Claus, and before HF19 one of my resteems could have more impact than a whale vote.
The best outcome I had from a resteem was when @darthnava posted about his need for help with surgery expenses. His post has been up for a day with around $5300 and seemed to have reached the point of stagnation. I resteemed it – views and upvotes started pouring in again for him, and it reached a good $8,000-something within just a few hours.
I won’t claim that the resteem made him most of the $17,000+ total he earned by the end of the pay period, but it did spark things back up for that post. The best case scenario for a resteem is when others who see the resteem also resteem it, and I’m sure that’s what happened in that case.
Since HF19 went into effect, however, I’ve noticed a sharp decline in the amount of money earned from posts I resteem. The reward pool has dropped and the price of Steem has also dropped. Plus we have the whole issue of self-upvoting comments going on, and people upvoting less because of the 40-vote-daily limit reduced to 10.
Q: How do you define a Christian Anarchist?
A: I define a Christian Anarchist as a citizen of the Kingdom of God, under the reign of God as one’s sole authority.
If government tries to impose on that citizen any law or policy in opposition to God’s authority, then that law or policy can and should be rejected.
Basically, it’s being under the law of God as taught through Jesus Christ. Wars are started by governments, but the Gospel teaches us to war only by sacrificial giving and the Word of God; therefore, I reject wars and won’t support war efforts.
I wouldn’t say I’m a “pure” Christian Anarchist, however – it’s just that, of all the classifications I know of, I hold opinions that are more closely aligned with Christian Anarchism than with anything else.
Q: Are there a lot of Christian Anarchists?
A: I have no idea. Lol.
I don’t follow anything about Christian Anarchism. In my opinion, if you are a Christian, you are a Christian Anarchist by spiritual birthright. But it’s not essential to claim it or even to know anything about Christian Anarchism.
Ultimately, you are either a believer in the testimony of Jesus Christ or not, and that’s what decides your fate. Being a Christian Anarchist isn’t necessary, and I don’t care if anyone else claims to be one or not. If you’re a Christian, then you’re a Christian. So am I.
Q: What's your advice for people who want followers?
A: My advice is to simply connect more with the people who you would like to have as followers, and with whom you share common interests.
I don’t think my way is the best way for people to gain followers, because out of the 10,000+ followers I have currently, they have many different interests. If I see a good photography post for example, and resteem it, only 100 to 200 people might be interested enough to have a look. That’s only 1 to 2 percent.
So if you’re a photography blogger, you’d be wasting a lot of time trying to gain thousands of followers using my method, when most of them will likely never view your posts. You won’t necessarily earn more money by having a lot of followers, especially if most of them don’t have a strong interest in what you post about regularly.
Q: Why don't you write your own blogs? Are you not financially motivated?
A: I don’t care about blogging. Never have.
When I signed up to Steemit last October, I posted 5 or 6 times to contribute something to the platform, but that was it until my recent post almost 2 weeks ago, where I offered to resteem some posts for newbies and minnows.
I’m not financially motivated for myself on Steemit, true. I’m more concerned about the success of Steemit overall. Even when I was facing complete financial ruin, I’ve never abused Steemit for money, ever. I never asked for help, because at the time I was going through my own personal hell, Steem was priced at 0.10, and I didn’t want to be the reason for draining some of the reward pool, period.
I even offered to sell my account to someone, things had become so bad. But he talked me out of doing that and loaned me some money instead. I still owe him a big chunk of it too, because I’m still paying off my debts and I haven’t caught up yet. But I will.
Q: If you're not financially motivated, what does motivate you?
A: I want to see Steemit continue to grow and for the new people on this site to experience success.
If things go well, I can envision a time where people in poor countries, including mine, will have their own community sites with their own community tokens (coming soon).
That’s going to equate to real financial freedom on a large scale for a lot of people! $5 per day may not mean a lot to a person living in the USA, but I can tell you that here in the part of the Philippines where I live, many people earn only about $2.50 per day, and they work 12 hours a day to get that.
Making $5 per day is totally doable for anyone on Steemit right now, but I think it will be even better when community tokens come into play. If my understanding about community tokens is correct, anyone will be able to create a community token that will have its own price, determined by price discovery like any other token, and that can be traded against Steem, just like we currently trade Steem against Bitcoin.
That means any business, church, hobby group, organization, or whatever, can have its own Steemit-like site, and its own reward system based on Steemit’s, and the members can earn money without the negatives of the current, prevailing voting behavior that has stifled some from seeing results for their effort.
Then you’ll have people with much more common interests, sharing common goals within the same community, and that’s what will bring in investors who also have those specific interests. I tried to bring in a Christian organization into Steemit and they declined. They saw the NSFW content, and when they scanned some of the posts in other categories, they weren’t impressed.
So what motivates me is my vision for the future of Steemit and for the future communities that will benefit from it. Steemit will be the parent site and the portal to community sites.
Q: If you don't write blogs, how do people find and follow you?
A: They don’t need to bother themselves with finding me. Sooner or later, I find them.
Thank you Joan for answering my questions.
Thank you also for resteeming my mom's post. I think your resteem of her post put the energy schizzle back into it, thereby allowing other people to find it. You're a real Steemian and I hope this story of you travels far and wide. You are an example for everyone.
All rewards from this post are going directly to @joanaltres. Let's take this a step further and send donations to @joanaltres. I just sent her 50 sbd, as a thank you for all the work she has done for Steemit. We can help her get out of debt, as most of us have benefitted greatly from her resteeming activities, I think it's time to show her some appreciation. Join me if you have any extra to give.
After reading about her story, I actually feel ashamed of myself. I think perhaps we have a real saint on Steemit here and I am very honored that she spent her time answering my questions. She is the Patron Saint of Steemit: Joan of Alt.
WOW! What a "surprise, surprise" for ME! :) This was totally unexpected. In fact, I was thinking my interview might end up being controversial when I submitted the answers to @stellabelle. Lol.
I was going to resteem this for her as well, but now I'm worried it might make me look self-serving and conceited. Lol! But, oh well...I'll do it anyway.
Thank you so very, VERY much for this big surprise of support. Really, I'm just pleasantly shocked and don't know what else to say.
Thanks for the donations, @stellabelle and @benjojo, and to everyone who has upvoted this post, commented, and/or resteemed.
So...here we go...resteeming this to 10,000+ followers. :)
Thank you, lady for resteeming my "miracle votes post" when I needed it. I sent some SBD as my way of saying thank you. Without your help, I would not be famous and short of paying for my hospitalization and recovery but only paying for surgery.
Oh! Thank you! Well, I'm just very glad you were able to have enough to cover everything. I know from my mother's own hospitalization from a stroke how expensive proper medical care is. It's not as expensive as people in the USA have to pay, but Phil Health is all we have for insurance, and it doesn't cover enough.
God bless you and it's been great to see you smiling in your photos! :)
Inspirational.
You deserve some upvotes for your crusade for the minnows :)
God bless you both :)
By the way I didn't see this interview, but I stumbled upon you on steemwhales.com today and started my own investigation. I've seen you around in comments before, but I didn't know anything. I didn't interview you and I'm glad to see that @stellabelle did as it answers many of my burning questions.
By the end of my investigation I kind of came to the conclusion you might be a marketing genius. ;)
I could also see that your mind worked very different from mine, but not in a bad way at all.
Anyway, I respect and admire what you are doing quite a bit. I think you may be a trend setter for a totally different way to interact with the steem blockchain. Impressive.
Super interview! Actually @stellabelle, I may be one of those who know of the existence of Joan already; Joan already passed by one of my posts some week or more ago. Suddenly I was seeing the vote count flying up!
Joan, I really appreciate the way you are looking at Steemit and what you trying to do for the community. With your follow base I suppose you are the perfect marketing tool for any newbie on the platform. And we have so many of them gained last month or so, they for sure can use some support.
It's a quiet version of dragonslayer109 old post.
I really like you very much so honest and open, why cant all the people here do the same it is such a lovely platform to be on as you get rid of some of the frustrations you never talk about to your family thank you to stellabelle for showing us this fantastic ladly.
... hypocrisy is the only characteristic that let you be always open. Can you fight the devil being honest and open? you cannot my dear. Some of us are warriors.
Very true thanks for replying.
Onward Christain💖 TY for the Newbee follow. Honored! Blessed to pioneer future of peer-to-peer decentralized blockchain technology.
Hey , you're great! Keep doing what you're doing !
Thanks, @kingmotan. Funny, because I just ate some Nutella about 15 minutes ago, and seeing it as your profile pic made me laugh. :)
A spoon of nutella a day keeps the doctor away ;)
2 spoons not?
2 spoons are too much man
ahahha sure... because nothing will be left for you, right??
I was going to insist that you resteem this! You wouldn't have a choice in the matter!
Lol. I did want some of my followers to know where I stand about some things, so I was really excited about the interview itself. If people could just see what Steemit is really about, and then embrace the broader vision of what it can and will become, I believe it would end a lot of the problems here...or at least lessen them.
Too many people are rushing in to just grab as much cash as possible, using whatever means possible, even to the detriment of others. That kind of mentality is just so rude and far outside of the vision we have all shared before this onslaught began.
And you're right about rewarding the right people. If we don't reward the people who truly care about this community, the members will be getting together for SpamFest instead of SteemFest, because the spammers will be the majority.
@stellabelle and @joanaltres
You both are the type of women we need more in this world to make it a better place and i am beginning to imagine if you both goes into politics the masses will benefit more. I don't want to think i am wrong in my assumption.
Reading this interview change my views of this platform, got me motivated and inspired and also challenge my lazy self to get up of my slumber and see the great works females are doing.
@joanaltres you deserve more than donations from this post and you are a good example of the adage that says "do what to others what you want others to do to you"
@stellabelle thanks for reaching out to her and sharing this for us all to learn.
@bania, agreed
You might be controversial, but it seems you have thought things through and come to your own conclusions. That's more most and fine by me...Congrats on all this. Cheers
This is so awesome :) thanks @stellabelle for sending this to me. Very cool interview. I've heard of the woman that has over 10,000 followers but never knew who it was. I love the super blunt and straight to the point answers. I'll definitely restreem and spread some love :) it would be my pleasure! Great job @joanaltres!
Thanks, @joeyrocketfilms, and thank you so much for the gift! That's very kind of you and I truly value it. :)
No biggie at all. It's just your generosity coming full circle :) thanks for all you do 👊🏼
Grabe ka daghan s followers :). Giunsa mani nimo :)
I'm always surprised at how many unique and wonderful people are to be found on this platform. I do hope an ever great sense of community is possible in the future. Since you don't write, I'm glad someone else went out of their way to do this. Thanks @stellabelle
I haven't heard of Christian anarchism but it makes sense. I know Buddhists who say something similar. I think many religion at their core are anarchist in nature but usuallyarent recognized as such.
Thanks @joanaltres for your vision and witness! Very inspiring! :-)
good to see your success in terms of followers. I am also following you. if you like then kindly resteem this useful post https://steemit.com/steemit/@vinay-negi/7-simple-and-easy-tips-for-minnow-to-be-a-whale
I never thought youre a Filipina. haha!
I'll read the interview later. This should be fun!
im glad i found you joanaltres :)

@joanaltres, good work and I hope the best for you. @stellabelle, thanks for sharing. It is great to escape. I escaped with basketball. We can steem off with Steemit. It is good to be good. I like smaller government. I would go for no government. If government was good or better, then things would be different. But they aint. People can be bad. You do not have to teach people to be bad. How can we be good? People must have a new heart to be good. People need like a heart transplant. If government tells me to do a bad thing, should I do the bad thing? That is a great question. People died in my life. Friends died. Family died. Some of them. Not all of them. I believe in the golden rule. Thanks for posting.
Well, you got one more follower. Such a graceful answers.
Very cool what you are doing resteeming. Have you stumbled across this guy?
This is a really funny post on barre by @rdg296
https://steemit.com/steemit/@rdg296/barre-ly-made-it-a-guy-s-experience-in-a-barre-class-and-why-he-got-there-in-the-first-place
Hi Joana
I have recently been caught up in a lot of controversies with what people present courtesy following as. But after reading you interview I see and admire the high level of respect you have for the steemit community and you high level of integrity. Even when you had financial hardship you still did not harm the community when it was available at your finger tips. You have my utmost respect for that.
And I liked your explanation about how mass followers that are heterogenous in interest is not the best approach. I am in two minds about trying your approach. I have worked tirelessly for 4 weeks putting out long and researched posts to gain 370 followers. Another difference I see is that you do not unfollow people by the hundreds which is a practice I see out there.
Listen I believe you are on the same page with my cause to help minnows like me and my fellow minnows. BUt I tell no lie that I will continue to work tirelessly and invest some money into steemit at some point once I have sorted out the purchase of my own home in the next few weeks that I want to be doing this full time. I love writing and I love contributing as I come from a back ground of owning and managing huge online forums. And that is what I love to do best.
So I will be bold and ask if you will go to @yoda1917 and give me some assistance in getting me more exposure, and hopefully a better following.
I know I am thick skinned to ask you this. But if I don't ask, the answer is no already. That is what I teach my students. When they randomnly ask me to buy them a cake for their birthday, I do sometimes just to make a point about having to ask.
I look forward to hearing from you whatever you answer may be.
Regards
Yoda
I took a look at your profile. Looks like you are off to a good start. I resteemed one of your posts also. :)
Thank you. I hope we can have some more conversation, there are a few important things I would like to ask you about :) Let me know what you think of my cause when you get a chance :)
You're heading in a positive direction, imo. I wouldn't change the path you're on. Just be mindful not to provoke certain people here as you gain influence. Some of them can damage your reputation beyond recovery. It's happened to more than a few - so when you're tackling issues, taking a stand against something, use as much tact and consideration as possible. That's about as much as I can tell you, based on several months observing the behavior of those who have high status and power on this platform.
I will remember that. That is why I am such a clown in the way I present things.
Hey are you ok with me sending you a few links to look at when I sober up? ;)
I already have your user name down. I'll check back on your profile periodically. I spread my resteems around and can only do a small number per day or it just pushes the posts down peoples' feeds and helps nobody.
I've just realised that you really don;t care much about monetary gains. You are really here to help people after all the hours you put in. WOW!!!
Hiya Joan, is like to pass this on if you're up for it. If so thanks!
https://steemit.com/blog/@adamtilsley/calling-all-steemians-one-of-our-own-needs-your-help
First of all, I want to thank you for opening my mind to what steemit can do for people in other countries as you suggested. That is amazing. And I also am grateful for your explanation of a Christian Anarchist - one who puts God's Law first... yes that is my stand.
@joanaltres you seem like an amazing person and I can't wait to get to know you better 💕
Amazing achievement and a great help to the community in helping minnows get noticed. Followed
Wow that is good initiative by you to interview. I hope that there will be some days with my interview.
This kind of attitude separates winners from losers. 10,000+ followers but still ground to earth really speaks volume about @joanaltres. Thanks for sharing this nicely put interview with us.
My god, I know. We forget about the quiet ones who are working away behind the scenes, not for their own pockets, but for others. It's really kind of making me feel sad, somehow, because here she is, she needed financial help, was in ruin, and still she kept thinking of others, trying to help them. Imagine what the world would look like filled with Joans........
She is the "Joan of Arc" of the present generation.
She really is. There is no doubt in my mind.
All of you are too kind. Really. Thanks again for everything. I appreciate this very much. :)
well, you have been helping all of us, and receiving nothing in return except the feeling of being Santa Claus. You need to get some rewards, in order to help with your debts. You deserve a part of the reward pool, you've done great things.
Can't agree more
Wow @stellabelle I knew she was special when I first re-steemed her but this is totally amazing. If you ask me, I think she is just getting started.
Congrats @joanaltres Way To Go!!!
full steem ahead!
Thanks very much, @streetstyle. I appreciate that. :)
@joanaltres Thank you for your inspiration, kindness and overall Humanity. Steemit is a better place because of you!!
full steem ahead!
Congratulations on being the first person to hit over 10,000 :) I hope you reach the 100K club before Steemit hits 1M+ registered users!
Great post.
Looks like that HF19 wasn't good for everybody. I've heard the same complaint from many Steemers: after hf19, rewards and votes dropped quite a bit.
WOW great interview!! ... The power of steem and all the great people involved.
You know youre a boss when you have 10,000 followers and you dont even need to be on the hot page, crazy
yeah, exactly. I started noticing Saint Joan (as I will now be referring to her) because she would put her comments on some of my blogs and resteem them. But her real magic happened when she found my mother's post and resteemed that. That basically sent my mom's post into orbit, getting all kinds of new views and upvotes. I'm trying to convince my mom (who is almost 80) to quit her job and just blog on steemit for her money. She still has to work to have income...but she told me recently that she's not interested in making money, only telling her stories, as she said she has a lot to recount of her life.
@stellabelle very good interview with @joanaltres . I think that her startegy will help her to see more success.
You have a great heart too . However following 50K+ will be overwhelming as your feeds will always be filled with posts and you will certainly miss out some top posts.
Hope both of you will see my latest post (where I cited you) on steemit taking over social media.
Keep steeming , my regards to @joanaltres and more success to both of you. Upvoted
This is truly inspirational and noble of @joanaltres I am almost at a loss for words. To be helping the community with no agenda of her own... Wow!
God bless you and your heart.
i know. it almost makes me want to cry. Thinking of her in financial ruin, but not wanting to "drain the reward pool." It's unreal.
@stellabelle This
"i know. it almost makes me want to cry. Thinking of her in financial ruin, but not wanting to "drain the reward pool." It's unreal."
Yeah, that is so giving and unselfish of her. It really is commendable. I wish her nothing but good fortune in the future.
Thank you for this incredible interview!
great interview, it's so great to learn about someone with such altruism and impact here on Steemit, thanks @stellabelle and @joanaltres!
Great post, Thanks!
Cool post and I also wondered about her and how she got so many followers without really posting.
@stellabelle you have made some research and make us notice on this aspect of who has the most followers in Steemit. And to @joanaltres I love your efforts and your intention of contributing to the Steemit community also I like the way you define what a Christian Anarchist is.
muy genial exitos
Excellent thanks for sharing
good info
This interview giving new tips to all steemians. Most of people don't follow others and don't resteem that is not good practice. Thank you @stellabelle for this interview. One thing I can say that your posts covers all topics with full pack of information.
I'm glad you find them useful.
@Jiggs must be so proud of you :)
Thank's Stellabelle for this post on @joanaltres
You both are sweethearts for all your contributions to the Steemit Community.
I hope we can get her out of debt by the end of the year.
Do you have a nomination for the Steemian-of-the-day draw?
please provide why/what act of kindness did they do?
WOW! I wish I had soo many followers!! Some of us here can hate or envy but the truth is that IT IS REALLY HARD WORK behind all this! :)) Thanks for sharing ! :)
well, read her post. All of her answers are there.
*gives a courtesy follow
That's well said, @joanaltres
Please do not hesitate to give me a shout if there's anything that I can do to help.
Thank you, @stellabelle
Nice interview good lock
I personally think even if you have tons of followers, if they are inactive or don't really like what you post, it still means nothing. Thanks for sharing though. Good stuff to know.
Ahhhhhhh the rich and famous of the cyber world... at this moment it is only a dream.
Great Interview @stellabelle
Interesting article stella i didn't know the whales here before your post
great post.. plan to read after baking some bread.. resteemed .. love this.. I need to start rubbing fins (elbows) :)
nice...thanks for your post..
I'm a little disappointed to see the top two followed both employed the strategy of just spam-following everyone, regardless of merit.
But, on the other hand, I guess that increases the likelihood they followed me...as if their feed is anything but a database-crushing disaster...
wait, what top two? I am a little confused on your meaning here.
Ah, well, it's probably not a big deal and who am I to judge, but based on your image, it looked like:
#2: always1success
...and, most likely:
#5: carlobelgado
...both did the "follow everyone plan" as well, which also means they have an unusable feed and that their follow on anyone would be meaningless.
I'm excluding sweet here, because her number is lower (and plausible), plus because she actually follows me and comments on stuff. I know she's active. I have no idea how she can use her feed, but she's a commenting machine so I wouldn't assume her follows were auto-clicks (based on her post:following ratio being good).
Great interview and nice to read about someone that I have seen around a lot!
thanks the website is great thanks a lot for sharing and keep on posting ;)
Hi @stellabelle, thanks for taking the time to not just look up @joanaltres, but to interview her to find out more about her.
In respect to her mentioning $2.50/day pay in the Philippines and saying $5/day would be life-changing income for most people there, did she mention anything about the exchange process for the people there? Do the government or banks there impose any restrictions on crypto, or are they free to trade like here in the states?
I have read many articles about other countries banning or restricting crypto since they see it as a way to circumvent their national currencies, but people take the risk to break free of it. Just curious if you know or not.
I don't know, but maybe @joanaltres can answer this?
One of the coolest experiences I've had actually!
This also happened due to that Resteem:
I'm truly thankful for the support!
Well, thank YOU for the support too! I received your gift and it is much appreciated, @hitmeasap. :)
It wasn't much, but at least it's something. :)
It's interesting how @joanaltres has been playing such a vital role behind the scenes, and also not getting any rewards.....I am going to have to change that today. It is as if her work is going unrewarded and unrecognized.
I have sent @joanaltres a donation from the Giving Steem initiative to help her with the costs of helping her mum. Great work bringing her efforts to light @stellabelle.
Thank you for doing that. I sent her 50 sbd as a thank you as well. Someone like her who has been working for the good of Steemit really should not be in debt. Maybe I can convince her after this to a recap post with all her favorite resteems, as a service, so to keep her own financial needs taken care of.....
Does the Giving Steem initiative has an account of its own?
No all the donations come from the SBD that I earn from posting. But that is only my part of it....the initiative is to encourage more Steemians to hopefully do the same or similar. It doesn't matter to me if 'Giving Steem' grows into something else or is superseded by something better organised or more effective. The only way it can currently scale is if other accounts do what I'm doing. I like the idea of that because it feels like accountable, transparent, decentralised, direct giving.
yes I like that also. Plus when people see others giving, it plants the idea in them too.
Additionally, as Steemit grows, it will be flooded with a kind of grab-all mentality that we see in corporate worlds. It will become even more necessary to show these kinds of people who are doing the opposite, and who are actually doing great service here in steemit.
Absolutely. There are significant cultural changes that we need to go through before the deeper benefits of Steem can be realised. That's only to be expected. It is incredibly important for people those who can envision something that could make a difference to everyone forever, try to show how that vision might be achievable. They are all small things really that for most come naturally with security and opportunity.
Probably the only Steemian who doesn't care about the rewards at all. For herself that is. Instead, working hard to give others the best possible experience she can. - That's truly inspiring.
I am convinced that she is the Saint of Steemit. It's clearly obvious. It's making me feel ashamed.
Oh, btw. This also happened!
Sure, I don't know if all these things happened because of the Resteem from @joanaltres, but I know it was a huge help at least. - And I'm truly thankful. I think you're doing a great thing here, rewarding her. I don't have much myself so I can't really give anything major.. A couple of SBD's is the best I can come up with.
This is a seriously good interview. Just a superb story and a lovely person discovered. Well, you have yet another follower @joanaltres. I really like your ingenuity, sincerity and sense of what is right and good for steemit. It makes me wonder how many other rock star Steemians are hiding in plain sight.
She really is Joan of Arc. I cannot say I know of anyone else on this platform who has done so much, and yet has received so little in rewards, out of self-sacrifice and humility. I think she is a saint, in fact it is clear that she is. She is the Patron Saint of Steemit: Joan of Alt.
Wonderful and very fitting ;)
10,000 that's just amazing! The idea of steem as the parent and other department child platforms is a great idea! Then useing STEEM as the standard of exchange is creative thinking! Then the thought of living off steem dollar in an undeveloped county could possibly go down as one of the MOST LIBERATING EVENTS in HISTORY just due to conversion rates😃Holy Cow !
It's seems a good strategy to adopt in case if you want to get greater curation rewards, but it also fills your feed with too much low quality posts which makes it hard to notice some good posts out there. So, whoever is courtesy following her back must have a lot of other accounts as well whom he or she had followed as well in courtesy which makes it hard for them to check the posts of Joanaltres. Well that's just my point of view and I totally respect Joanaltres's as well if it's in her benefit she must continue doing that. Thumbs up.
She's got a whole share of followers in her pocket.
Whaleshares attracts people I think 😅
God bless you @stellabelle
You did a great job for making an interview and giving that wonderful lady all the reward from your post.
My god she didn't claim anything from it. What a great person she is.
Lesson : you don't need to have blog to have followers.
Btw, if he doesn't blog why her followers follow ?

Nice interview with @joanaltres, this information was unknown to me. Thanks for the info.
Wow! This is super look! The most followed on Steemit! Good going. Cheers!
Impressive interview! Really enjoyed the questions you asked & great rebuttals!!!
I knew nothing about what a Christian Anarchist meant. It makes sense....I guess if I wasn't an atheist, I'd be a Christian Anarchist. She's like the first person who is an actual Christian, and who is actually following in that path.
Lots of followers with very little content. Shows that there are many ways to use the platform
STEEM On!!
Dave
@stellabelle, the learning never stops at steemit. I have about 164 followers in my 3 weeks here and after reading this post, I am thinking of doing radically the opposite.
I have till now a total of 10-12 posts and I will just check how many of my follower have left me at least 1 comment in my blogs. That is 1 comment in all my 12 posts.
If I find anyone who hasn't bothered a single comment, then I will just unfollow them. May be I will drop below 100 again. I will follow the same principle that I employ while following someone. At least 1 comment ( short, long, good, bad, right, wrong, appreciate, criticize whatever) in 10 consecutive blogs is my bench mark. I will make it a point to leave 1 or more meaningful and constructive comment atleast once (among every 10 blogs) of all the 76 accounts that I am following now.
I think I will relieve my dead followers so that they have one less feed coming from me to their page.
I never resteem. Instead of resteem, I am focusing on maxsteem ( have written a blog on that). I haven't done it second time yet. Been hectic schedule with personal work. But will do maxsteeming regularly sometime soon.
I have all this radical ideas and I am swimming against the tide. Apparently my blogs have failed to get any traction at all, which is understandable by my miniscule followers and the deluge of posts out there and my upvote has insignificant influence.
But I want to stick to my idea and see how it works out in coming days.
a true success story.
lovely sentiments and i hope joan finds me on one day too -- i follow people and tell them i follow them but i don't judge them if they don't follow me back-- i am happy to hear this worked for Joan too. What a lovely lady helping her mum.
Didn't realise anyone had that great of a following haha
@joanaltres these were some great answers and I hope that all is going well with you and your mother! :)
It really warms my heart to see how humble and frugal you are and that you are not here for the money but to get steem out there so everyone can have exposure to this great platform.
I hope you have a Great Day!
Congratulation @joanaltres, you are great person, doing good deeds, greetings from Poland!
