Longan is the fruit of Longanier (scientifically known as Dimocarpus longan). It looks like berry or wine, a little sweet and watery. Longan belongs to the wider soap group. This fruit is often referred to as a dragon fruit because it has a pale flesh and a black seed in the middle. As the fruit matures, the outer layer of the skin becomes a hardened shell, so when harvested, the fruit can easily be removed from the skull.
