A Staple to Any Great Diet - Steak and Veggies!

in #food6 years ago

Steak has a lot of great health benefits and I love a nice steak when it's cooked properly!

I made this steak with a simple rub, here are the ingredients for the whole meal:

  • Brisket Rub
  • Red Hot Pepper Seasoning
  • Black Pepper
  • Himalayan Salt
  • Mixed Stir Fry Vegetables
  • 1lb Steak

I cooked the steak on the stove on low heat for 6 minutes on each side.

The steak came out as medium-rare and was really tender and delicous!

Hope you enjoy! What's your favorite cut of meat?

I am not sure that steak must be included in our staple food diet. As a human we created to eat veggies just like horse. As we observe we have the same type of teeth as herbivores animals so we are herbivores in nature. By the way great food my friend

It is bad idea to read this post before sleep....

Haha I was thinking the same thing! You'll be dreaming about it all night.

Yeah, I think eating meats is actually bad for your diet... I love meats just saying probably not healthy...

Steaks are awesome! Best wishes from Germany

excellent recipe !!! a complete meal for the diet

It looks very tasty, thanks for sharing your recipe.

it was very very tasty!!

Very appetizing. I would love a slice of that steak. Never cooked steaks.

And what a staple it is! You can never go wrong with that. I had a bbq today actually, but had chicken with homemade bbq sauce, grilles asparagus and then rice-a-roni...lol Good times. That steak looks amazing by the way! My favorite cut tends to be a Tri-tip wrapped in a thick cut of applewood smoked bacon, throw 4 or 5 chunks on a metal skewer and grill away. mmmm. Filets are great too of course.

great food ...looking delicious...healthy food

thank you !!

Im on a diet and stack is must!

steak is fantastic for dieters!

Why would you cook it on low heat?#
It won't even cook at that temperature so how would you even get ''Medium-Rare''?
I grilled my steak on HIGH heat 6 minutes / side and it came out RARE
So I really don't believe you in this post. That can't properly be cooked.
From the picture I can see, in my opinion you WAY over seasoned it. You have to remember that the meat is the star of the show here, not the seasoning that takes away from the tender cut of that Top Sirloin steak you have? Did I get it right?

All meat needs is a little salt and a little pepper before cooking. NOT after, some people would do it after, and it just doesn't bring out the flavor.

Anyway right now my favorite cut of meat is a strip steak. They are easy to cook, look beautiful and uniform when cooked. I've tried many other types of steak, tenderloins, t-bone, porterhouse, strip, ribeye, top sirloin, flank, skirt, all good for different things.
Source. I work with meat all day. I am a butcher.

it looks so tenderrrrrrrr
