We've been feeding tens of thousands of meals a year for free for almost a decade.
We do this every single day and in many ways: we feed countless volunteers, cater epic events, cook for the firemen, and give groceries to single mothers & families, but one of the most rewarding and profound ways for us to share food is to go out into the city and feed the homeless.
In the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex where we live, it is actually illegal to feed homeless people without first complying with a costly set of regulations and restrictions.
That is absolutely absurd, just totally and completely ridiculous!!
Sometimes we use our outreach to not only get food to people in need, but to educate others on the reality of our American society. We don't agree with that system, so we live the change we want to see in the world. There is nothing honorable about obeying unjust laws!
There's more than enough of everything, and it is our duty, right, honor, and privilege to share it with our brothers and sisters.
We hope to inspire you to disregard any restriction or tax on expressing compassion, so please enjoy this video gallery of some of our homeless feed events:
What you're doing is amazing and it's a great service to humanity. I totally agree with your conviction about unjust government rules and I know they are many more which are just evil and and wrong. Thanks for sharing n keep up the great work
Thank you for the recognition, @zeidlitwhips. The homeless situation is just one example of how arbitrary rules and regulations are not in the best interest of humanity. We're not ones to fit ourselves into systems that do not truly support, and there's no need to lower our standards. We'll just set a better example!
You're welcome @gardenofeden, you've put it very well. This rules and regulations are from the corrupt elites to keep the normal folks at a tight grip but it's all collapsing around them currently. We should all strive to improve our humanity in order to become better citizens of the world and lend a helping hand to the less fortunate. Cheers 👍
I"m grateful that even when it seems like we are sharing only a hot and welcomed meal, it is also true that we are sharing hope, attention, and love. So many homeless respond with such gratitude for someone just caring enough to spend their day taking them something to nourish their bodies. The caring lasts way longer than a meal. Often we have seen the same people on the streets feeding after feeding. They remember us, and are excited to see us return to share the love. Blessed to be a part of this community where making the world a better place is of high priority. Thanks for the post @gardenofeden.
Thats right shellie! You are indeed a shining example!
Grateful to have an example to engage to become an example! Thank you @quinneaker for holding the vision to make it happen.

Thanks for sharing the real soul nourishment, @everlove!
It's an honor to share the love around. Grateful to be a part of it.
All unjust law must be ignored.
The innocent must be defended.
Love must always defeat hate.
And you must be the one to do it. Yes, you, the person reading this, no matter who you are, you must be the one to do it.
The world is in our hands! It is up to us to create the future!
Watching the videos made me cry (in work). Inspiring stuff.
Wow, you are in touch with profound works. Thanks for sharing your experience. You are in tune~*~
Thank you for seeing what we do, @jimbobbill!
Weel said hope to inspire you to BE THE CHANGE too
Thank you @jodhpurindia!
very good posting my friend.
Caring for each other is a trait that will bring goodness to every human being, our concern is very helpful to those who are deprived,
our concern to give some help that feels small for us,
will be very helpful for those who are deprived,
our sense of humanity ends after a sense of caring We ignore,
caring for each other, has made us a human being, has lifted our dignity, Because heart says to care, then care for them, give them the help they need,
keep doing good dude!!
Thank you for the encouragement, @mahdie! On one hand, sharing a meal is a small act, but on the other hand it can make an enormous difference in the life of a single human to know they are cared for and acknowledged. It is important to take care of each other!
There are bad people in the world, but fortuanately there are people like you who are wonderful. Thanks for sharing this with us it is so sad but you are helping.
Thank you, @bigbear! Everyone has the ability to make the world a better place!
Wow you can tell they are so happy to be given food because they have been struggling. Thanks for being such a positive force in the world.
Indeed~
Appreciate the support. Hope to see you around.

You're welcome, @kontora! It is our pleasure to share the inspiration that anything is possible and there's more than enough of everything! Everyone is able to make the world a better place!
There's no place to fish. You can't farm in a city.
People are trapped, and can't just leave on their own. They don't have resources to set up farms or other means of production.
They've had a tough life, and their mental landscape is not conducive to learning to fish.
Sometimes they just need help, and there's nothing you can do to help them except lessen their burden.
thanks for shering @gardenofeden
We be the change we wish to see in the world!
Agree wholeheartedly with the "There is nothing honorable about obeying unjust laws!" part.
What does it say about our society, and the State of our Nation, When feeding the homeless is illegal?
Guess we will just have to cancel Thanksgiving Day celebration's now...
SORRY!
Teach me to love my Oppressors!
I struggle with that.
I love what You people are doing!
Keep up the good work!
Namaste!
Thats right brother!

Thank you, @jesse2you! We don't agree with the values this society demonstrates, so we set higher standards. We're here to help each other, and we are willing and able to do the work to be the change in this world!!
I'm so glad there are still people like you.
Thank god!

You guys rock !

Thanks, @sunsurfsoul!

@gardenofeden you reminded me of sikh community they have a Golden temple in India Amritsar The langar at the Golden Temple serves a massive number – 50,000 people a day.
WOW!
That is IMPRESSIVE!
Gives us something to strive for!
But what u guys are doing on your level is so much appreciable ....I guess I too will feed as many people I can on 21st of every month ...
Every little bit helps. IN truth if everyone just helped one person there would be no one who needs help....
Pretty easy really.
Wow, what an epic day that would be! Wouldn't that be a majestic feat??
It's impressive to watch cooks ,people who are serving and cleaning plates no one take a dime for thier work all is done in the name of thier guru !! They all donate money to temple to gather ration.. it even came in discovery channel's mega kitchen ...
Thank you for everything you'll do @gardenofeden :)

Thank you for the respect, @scottydoes!
Just had a conversation about this on Monday. I was trying to explain to someone why I didn't regret donating unsold produce to the homeless despite the fact that I had gotten in trouble repeatedly for doing it. Just because it's a law doesn't mean it's just, some of the most interesting people I've met to date are simply people that have fallen on hard times. Great post!
We appreciate your support and comment!
Hope to see you around!
Good for you, @freemrktfarmer! It's meaningful for moral individuals to stand up against injustice in whatever ways they can. If "the way things are" is morally repugnant, then to comply with "the way things are" is blasphemy in its own right.
I agree 100% and by showing people how silly and destructive a law can be you have an opportunity to plant a seed. The more seeds that germinate and grow that ignore the law and do the right thing, the harder it becomes to enforce. One step at a time we can be the change we need to see in communities!
When Injustice Becomes "Law", Resistance is a Duty.
Spiritual Individual Sovereingty Will OverTake All Statist Regulations eventually.
Good Work!
No one can escape karma! To comply with and tolerate injustice is to endorse it and support it.
I think the bigger picture is to teach them how to fish, not to feed them...you know what i mean?
There's no place to fish. You can't farm in a city.
People are trapped, and can't just leave on their own. They don't have resources to set up farms or other means of production.
They've had a tough life, and their mental landscape is not conducive to learning to fish.
Sometimes they just need help, and there's nothing you can do to help them except lessen their burden.
I once read in the news that a homeless couple were given a hotel room for a day, kindly paid by some folks, only for them to find out that some of the equipment was stolen and the rest smashed by the homeless couple before they ran off.
Forgot what point i was trying to make after writing a whole paragraph... i'll probably come back to re-edit, time for me too get some sleep, it's 6am here :p
Desperate people will do things that seem foolish to us, but wise to them.
They must have needed a pen, a lamp, or whatever else they took.
Maybe they thought they were at war with society. Their lives might have been far more tragic and difficult than you realize, and they might view everyone around them as a potential enemy.
The only thing I can recommend is more compassion.
More compassion, until the world is better.
Never stop. Never feel hatred or disgust or contempt for other humans.
Only compassion and empathy.
while I agree with you in general principle ,I struggle with that .When I watch some of the videos of police brutality ,them beating and shooting people,my blood boils! when I see injustice and corruption so blatant displayed with no thought or care because they know that there is no one to stop them or that will prosecute them.
I no hate and violence are not the answer! I know we are being intentionally Triggered ,to cause civil response so they can use more force!
The right to remain silent but not the ability or self control... lol.
namaste!
What do you think the answer is?
Peaceful discussion with people who find it ok to brutally murder people or enslave them? Maybe that'll fix it.
Please do not get me wrong.
I respect and agree that with what you are saying.
but how do you manage an animal that has Rabies?
and what do you do with know murders and psychopaths? How do you treat them with love and respect?
and why do we consider it humane to put rabid animals and animals such as horse's down if they break a leg?
...Killing in the name of love? Sometimes we are faced with tuff decisions.
I have seen the results of not doing the right(?) thing with a horse.... years of misery for the poor horse! and have seen the locals fish & game , ranchers, and farmers hunt down rabid Animals...
I would love to believe that we could talk and love the changes into effect, but I suspect we are going to have to use more aggressive means.
I have never been bitten by a rabid animal, but I know people who have, and the treatment is not (or was not)fun! 4-5 shots, weeks of pain.
Here's to finding a way! :-)
namaste!
if what you are saying is true then these people are hopeless and in many ways pests to society. It's a very depressing outlook that you've shed but the important thing is to keep hope alive, without it you might as well be dead. Think about it? What kinda life is that to live? Day to day just waiting for someone to give you handout?
There is no such thing as a pest.
Just as we feed upon the lives of animals and plants, others may feed upon us.
The circle of life does not have an ending point. It simply spirals upwards.
What is depressing to you is another person's chance to help someone.
You are amazing, following now
i think you've misunderstood me, I am glad there are helping hands out there. What I don't agree with is some people get too used to getting hand outs and they don't want to change. I like to help people who help themselves, I never said there was anything wrong helping others. It;s the picture you painted for me earlier that made me depressed. It was just the hopelessness of what you've said that made me depressed.
Life is depressing, and I can't say I'm all that happy about the state of things either.
But remember that these people are fighting uphill against oppressive governments, cruel people, and institutions that help them only enough that they join the cult, be it religious or government, or some other societal movement.
The only way to truly help people is to offer them education, and if that does not work, love. Just love. Nothing else is necessary except love, although giving them food, clothing, and knowledge is also quite lovely.
YES! And that's why we devote an ample amount of time and energy towards teaching sustainable skills and personal responsibility as well. At the same time, we are blessed with an incredible abundance of food and sharing it is a natural urge.
I agree with that, I understand that most people will experience hardship at some point in their lives so we all need a little bit of help to get back on our feet.
Oh wow. Did you happen to come across my article 10 things I learned from being homeless?
Great work.. I agree with your mission.
@gardenofeden interesting post! i followed!)
I really respect your thought. Keep up the good work.
