Ciao Steemit! 💋
I realise that in my bio I raised the pineapple on pizza extravaganza! So... I dare to ask the question...
Pineapple on pizza... yes or no?!
🍕🍕🍕🍕
For me this is easy peasy lemon squeezy...!
What's the big deal? I think it's yummy! I find it fascinating what people like/dislike, and yes, I have heard of some VERY gross combinations like for instance, an apple and sugar sandwich... yes really!! Just why? That (to me) is like sitting on a beach eating a normal sandwich and biting down and having that awful crunch in your teeth from the sand! Just no! That has to be the worse thing EVER!
On the subject of sandwiches... I will throw a spanner in the works so to speak and admit that I am quite partial to a cheese and banana sandwich! no judgey mc-judgingsons please! 😉 Do try if you haven't! The flavours just REALLY compliment each other! Ha!
Ok, so back to the pineapple on pizza... who else is a fan? Or not? Lol!
I'm a bit of a foodie, and am sure there's LOTS of other weird and wonderful dishes to try! Am interested to know of some of your concoctions! Let's hear your thoughts on this!
Lots of love from England 💋
Pizza out! ✌🍕
Nope, No, NADA!
So that's a firm no from @sweetpea 🤣 I fear I am losing this one! Haha!
Well, if you like cheese and banana on a sandwich you could up the anti and add bacon and egg on it as well. Yum!
As for pineapple on a pizza, not my first choice ;)
Hmm not sure I could be that daring 🤣 Banana with egg and bacon... it's a no from me haha! As the saying goes 'don't knock it until you've tried it', which totally contradicts everything I've just said ^ lol!
Hehe, well, you're missing out is all I'll say. The saltiness from the bacon with the sweet from the banana is kickass... if you like that thing off course ;)
Mmm ok, well I do like crisps and chocolate (eating the crisps after the chocolate), that sweet/salt combo, so I could surprise myself! Lol :)
Italian here. Just my 2cents on the topic : NO. XD
HAHA! Oh no! covers face 🙈🤣
Hahahahaha! I was really not used to that, but with time I kind of "gave up", meaning I accept the fact people might like that and I am ok with that... Just don't order that in Italy and NEVER, I repeat NEVER speak about that with Italian grandmothers, you risk giving them a heart attack xD
Wow! Really! How interesting, I thought Italians were quite 'exotic' shall we say when cooking haha! Hmm ok, if I ever go I shall have the famous spaghetti and meatballs - yum! (I have a friend who is part Italian, and who, funnily enough is a grandmother) will be seeing her soon, hmm... I'm thinking this could get quite fruity lol! Shall let you know the verdict in few weeks time hahaha! 😉
Well, actually we are super traditionalist when cooking, the exact opposite of exotic xD.. Try to propose some variation on Italian dishes, most of the people will look at you very strangely, some of them might get offended too :) Also, there is a big debate on spaghetti with meatballs (whether they are authentic Italian food or not) according to where you live : in the south, where I come from, people cook them but the meatballs are way smaller than in the US version, while in Northern Italy, most of the time people will tell you that is not an Italian dish.. We're a complicated country :)
Ooh ok, yes that makes sense. Wow, but Italians know how to cook hey! 👌 That's the most important thing haha! Very interesting, I have learnt something! :)
Totally love a meaty pizza with some pineapple on it...and maybe some onion and chilli too!
YES! How tasty! We got this 😎👌
Hawaiian style all day long!
Haha I always love this debate, every time someone orders pizza! For me, it's a no. Too slimy.. and not all that Italian? Or maybe i'm wrong..?
Haha! Is a funny one, I've never questioned it lol. The chicken and the egg debate however... wow, can you imagine how that would go! Haha! Well, no, apparently it isn't, I always thought it was, but we all know what thought did lol
One of the best pizzas I ever had was a hand tossed crust with spicy marinara, pineapple, pepperoni, canadian bacon, and green peppers. And that cartoon: so wrong, so funny...
Ooooh @corpsvalues that sounds like heaven!! Think I will try (and most likely fail) and give that one a go! Yum! Hahahaha! Yeah, I did have a giggle and just had to have it 🙈🤣
I have never had pizza with pineapple on it, so I am a neutral voter... but in regards to weird sandwich combinations? My oldest daughter used to love to eat... peanut butter and Frito corn chips sandwiches. I tried it once (nibbled a bite) and it really wasn't too bad!
Ooh try it! It isn't as bad as what this lot says ;) lol! Ok, that doesn't sound so bad, though I am a fuss pot when it comes to peanut butter, I only like a certain jar, and I don't actually like peanuts haha! Maybe I will try that! :)
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! lol but then I don't really like pizza anyway! And I am CERTAIN that @thekittygirl and @zord189 will highly contest what I have just said on both counts hahahaha!!!
Hahahaha!! Whaaaaaaat? You don't like pizza! I need a minute for that to sink in! 🤣 Mmm this could get interesting! Lol! 👀
Love pineapple, not on pizza though. So NO thanks!
How about pizza on pineapple instead? 😉
Big fan of pineapple on pizza. The sweet flavor complements the rest of everything going on. Pineapple, pepperoni, black olives... yum!
Other weird combos I like:
Peanut butter on vanilla ice cream
Spaghetti with pickles
Mayonnaise on French fries (apparently this is only weird in the USA)
Yes! Totally agree (with the first part!) Hahaha!
Umm.. not so sure I would be keen to try the other combos 🤣 Yes, lots of people like mayonnaise with fries... I guess if I HAD to choose out of your options that would be the one I'd go for lol! Though I'm a ketchup kinda gal haha! Thanks for stopping by! 😃
How this is even debatable I don't know!
As you say: "It's yummy!"
#EndOfDebate
:P
People opposed to it are probably the same people that think toilet paper should roll out the back. :P
I know right!! YES! We are on the same page hey! I need to see the perforated line when I tear off the paper, can't just be yanking and hoping for the best! (Hmm, TMI? Ah well, gotta be said!) 🤣🙈 yes! #endofdebate #boom 😎
That looks like confirming the point to me ;-)
HAHAHA! Laughing out loud! 😂 You have no idea how much I needed that so thank you lol! This picture makes me happy hahaha in a very strange kinda way, HA!
Yes.
I like a lot of different things on a pizza and there are things that i do not like... like olives. That's just my taste.
If people do not like pineapple on pizza then they should not order pizza with pinapple on them... duh... but trying to stop others on what they eat on their pizza is like telling people what brand of beer they shouldn't drink.
Ooh yes agree with you about the olives - not my cup of tea! I've never given pineapple on pizza a second thought, as far back as I can remember I've always had it and thought everyone else did too! Perhaps not hahaha! 🤣 Yes exactly, though I quite like a larger shandy, so beer wise.. anything goes lol!
I think the whole critique came from an internet meme that became an "internet culture" thing.
You are more than likely right! I remember seeing loads of it around Facebook lol, then everyone just jumps on the bandwagon, like cool it - it's pineapple! Nom nom 🤣
It's also a hardcore fruit because it tries to digests YOU while you try to digest it.
For real. Have you ever done steak with pineapple? You lay slices of pineapple on top of steak and then beat it with a mallet. (not that necessary) The steak will be the softest you ever have tried.
Why?
Because it has an enzyme that breaks down meat. That sting you get from pure pineapple is where that comes from...
Still, a tasty fruit.
I did not know that! Very cool! No can't say I've ever done that, though have had pineapple with gammon, that also works well as sometimes the gammon can be too salty sometimes. I'm impressed! Will definitely try this! I'm guessing you leave the pineapple on top of the steak whilst it cooks?
Once you punch it up (I think that just allows a lot of pineapple juice to contact the meat), then you leave it in a tray in the fridge to pull in that juice.
If you intend on cooking it in the oven then you could leave the pineapple on for a bit, but it will probably dry out end get hard if left in all the while.
If you intend on braaing the meat then you definitely want to take the pineapple off and throw it away. If you want pineapple in the plate then cut another one.
