Blood sugar shifts will influence mood and this is probably much of the reason why breakfast can make one feel a little happier throughout the day. Making the right food choices is important in the morning too. I try to stay away from fried varieties and focus on filling some nutritional value for the day.
Adding some fibre, fruit and protein is a great way to approach the start of the morning. I have often set my alarm a little earlier to accommodate breakfast in the early morning to make sure I can start the day right, even if it means missing a little sleep.
