There were pork meat left from a whole piece that I thawed yesterday and I couldn´t decide what to cook for today´s lunch. It´s like that in my kitchen more or less because I cook spontaneously and I do not plan my cooking. I look at what´s available in the fridge, then I decide what to cook.
It was a different story when I was still working, I used to have a marathon cooking on weekends and froze everything I cooked in portions for the following week. Oh my.... if I would think about how stressy my corporate job was and the little time I had back then, you won´t believe that in such limitations, I was even doing so many crafts and DIY projects to relieve me from the job stress.
Now that retirement is here, I have so little time to spare on crafting projects because I spent more time on crypto- currencies and blogging on steemit, LOL!
Here is the simple method of making the skewers
Simply cut the meat you have in strips , set it in the skewers alternating meat and veggies you like.. then brush soy sauce on all sides and let stand for 20 minutes... fry in a heavy hot skillet or pan with 2 tablespoons of oil about 2-3 minutes on all sides or until golden brown in color. Arrange in a platter and keep warm.
For the braised vegetable: In a pan with 2 tablespoons oil, stir-fry all steam veggies and sprinkle 1 tbsp soy sauce, add 1/2 cup broth or water and cook under low heat until the liquid evaporates. Season with salt and pepper or adjust the seasoning according to your taste..
Arrange the skewers in a plate , add the vegetables and cooked rice.

Oh yummy i see you made a kebab style! I myself use a marinate of soy sauce, brown sugar that gives a nice caramelization and sweet taste to it and some ketchup, pepper and salt to taste.

Thank you! This is a real quicky, hehehe.. I would normally marinate the meat with coke overnight in the fridge..If I grill this in cahrcoal, I would boil the coke liquid used and boil it, cool it down and add seasoning and ketchup to brush the meat while grilling! Hmmm!
Oh wow never thought of using coke before will do it for tomorrow's Sunday Bbq if it is not raining.
Yes, try it and you´ll see that the meat is so tender! Happy weekend!
The carbon in coke makes the meat become tender. :-))

Another term of Kibab?
Mabuhay! Your post has been upvoted and resteemed by the @bayanihan curation team.
Kibab or kebab, kebap, kabog are terms used by muslims for grilled meat depending on which country one is from. Originally, the kind of meat being used in Kebab is veal, or a young cow because of its still tender meat. Nowadays, they also use chicken meat because it´s much cheaper than the veal. Others use lamb but it´s much more expensive than the chicken. Skewer is just the term used by the americans or english for meat being grilled using the bamboo or metal piece called skewer . Hope this helps... Salamat po at Mabuhay!
This looks delicious @mers! I never thought to cut pork into strips like that and frying it. Can this work with a tenderloin?
Hi Pj! Yes indeed... but fry the meat 2 minutes only until really it´s just golden brown..Thanks!

This looks so yummy! I think I'm gonna try this. I have a lot of left over veggies that I need to use asap (although I don't have zucchini). Thank you for sharing this!
