We eat all kinds of pumpkin, but normally skin them and cut the insides into little cubes for cooking in water on the stove.
But guess what? The next one will be baked in the oven your style Lady Jo!
Of course we also bake the pips separately, as they are also delicious.

I’m glad to give you a different way to cook the pumpkins, Sir Stephen. I find it easier to bake them in the oven. I also cook squash the same way. 🎃
We shall indeed follow your example Lady Jo, as it sounds totally logical to me. In the army days we used to cook whole pumpkins in a fire and only removed the pips afterwards, so your way really makes sense.
