Reduce Sugar Intake @senseicat

in #food6 years ago

It seems pretty evident that lessening sugar intake is optimal for a healthy functioning body. People realize now more than ever the effects of eating processed foods and the enormous quantities of sugar that is hidden in foods. The health ramifications are numerous from lack of concentration, hyperactivity, to diseases due to our systems malfunctioning.

Sometimes, it is challenging to eliminate it all together and it may be nearly an impossible task. One thing that we can all do is to drastically limit our sugar intake. I think many people equate eating sugary treats as love and once you begin eating sugar, it sure is difficult to find a stopping point.

In my household, I pack my son home made lunches every day and it includes veggies. He begins each morning with veggies and his evening meal also includes them. I think that when you start the children young on healthy eating practices, it will help them make better food choices in the long run.

Great post. Doc took me off sugar for health reasons. Since then, if I have an occasional treat, I really notice a difference. Very important. Thanks for sharing.

That is an excellent point! After reducing sugar, it is easy to recognize how overly sweet things seems to taste when you introduce it back. The good news is that it is a good way to limit the quantity due to the change in the taste buds.

Good post @senseicat. Thanks for sharing!
