Call me chef

One of the things I want to explore, both with this site and with my YouTube channel is the idea of adding recipes.

I quite like to cook and it is definitely in my family on my dad's side believe it or not. My granddad was a chef, even working as a chef on the trains in Wellington. As a kid I also spent a lot of time in the kitchen learning to cook and bake and we're even getting Little Wookie involved in cooking and baking as well. So cooking is something that I definitely want to explore more of.

However, I do need to do it when Mrs Wookie is out of the kitchen. Her cooking style and mine differ significantly and this causes many an argument when we cook together. So we don't.

I want to explore recipes that are tasty, maybe healthy, but are simple to make and thus encourage us to make our own food. In turn this allows us to know what we are eating which means that we can be healthier rather than rely of food made in a lab - YES, I am looking at you Impossible Meat, you Frankenstein.

Cooking and baking are a great way to relax as well. You can even save a little bit of money, although truth be told, you'd not really save that much unless you've got some sort of buying power available to you due to the cost of living increases.

To offset this a little I'm also thinking of doing some gardening videos to show how easy it is to grow your own vegetables, even with tight space. It's easier than you think and you get to know exactly what goes into your meals.

The great thing about cooking and baking is that not only do you learn something but it's entirely possible that you've got most of the equipment you need already.

I'm quite excited about adding this to this channel and I hope you'll enjoy what I'm doing as well.
