Fun fact about me: I loooooove sushi. But who doesn’t? I have avoided making them like a plague because of how much effort it takes but I decided to challenge myself and do it. Not only that, I decided to make it rainbow so instead of it being a couple hours it took me all day 😅 It was like being an artist with my painting palette made out of natural food dyes. I had spirulina (green), tumeric (yellow), beetroot (red), butterfly pea powder (blue), butterfly pea powder and lemon (purple) and tumeric and beetroot (orange) 🎨 The best part was that you couldn’t taste any of the food dye so actually got some added nutrients in instead! The fillings included avo, cucumber and pickled carrots. The end result was beautiful and well worth the effort but I’ll leave it back to the pros now 😂

Wow these look amazing! Never made vegan sushi. should give it a go.

Thank you! Do it! It's a bit tricky at first but it's fun and you feel like you've accomplished something when the roll comes out nicely haha.

beautiful appearance makes you hesitate to eat it

It sure does! I quickly ate all the ends but the moment it got to the pretty perfect ones I couldn't do it haha.

Ohhh this looks soooo beautiful!!! ♥

Thank you! Hope you're having an amazing day!

Thank you, have a great day as well ♥

So pretty and I love how the dyes are all natural!

Me too! At least I know exactly what I'm having when I use it instead of buying the ones with dried up bugs!

Haha I can surely imagine it took all day. Good job! Looks natural and pretty~ We have similar food in Korea. We call it “kim-bap” Kim is the black dried seaweed and “bab” is rice. When I try vegan kimbap at home. I put also “yubu (fried tofu) and other vegi pickles. Thank you for sharing ~^^

Thank you! Ahh I love Korean food. My favourite is Kim chi soup and I have been dying to make it vegan! I also love me a good bibimbap.

Wow~ good to hear you already know some korean food! Vegan kimchi is not so hard. There are already many tries here by many korean vegans. Hopefully I have a chance to look for some vegan recipes for you~ I travelled North and south Islands New Zealand for about seven months long time ago and did fruit picking! ^^ See you around~ Nice to talk with you^^

Haha Korean food is huge in Melbourne where I’m actually from. I’ve also been to Seoul! But not as a vegan so would be really interesting to try the food now. So good to hear you’ve been to NZ too! You’ve probably seen more than me as I’ve mainly been in Tauranga 😂 thanks for sharing! Have a lovely day!

Is it? I had no idea! Happy to know that I can share some things with people out there~ I've been to OZ twice and travelled respectivelly for about one month, but never been to Melbourn. I heard the place is very cool and full of intelligent people! I should visit there, too, someday ^^

Nice, I also wanted to do something like this yesterday, but I ended up a bit different so I decided to try it again next week, hopefully it ends up as beautiful als this ^^

Just had a quick look at yours! I make my rice and then i mix my powders with water and then dye it. Makes it a lot easier than cooking it individually! If you let your cabbage simmer in a pot for about 30 mins a much deeper colour will come out as well and then you can dye your rice or rice noodles by cooking as usual. Can’t wait to see your next attempt! Hope it goes well!

Yeah I also saw that online, so I'll try it that way next week, thanks for the tip ^^

Ohhh so pretty :) Sushi made for unicorns :) They look so Amazing. I'm still a shushi amatour so these are way out of my League :D

Thank you! Oh believe me I am a sushi amateur too! I think I've made it only 3 times before this but I just thought I'd be game and give it a go hahaha. I love watching sushi chefs make it so quickly now because it's so hard for me.

Haha wow. You did good then :D. I'm really impressed if it was only your third time.
I can't wait to make sushi again and use proper sushi rice :).
I agree, I totally have a new admiration for sushi chefs now :D

looks yummy :0

Thank you! They were delicious!

This is so cool! We did adventure in making sushi and it doesn't take a bit of time. Never seen rainbow ones, makes it fun!

Thank you! It is definitely much more time consuming trying to make rainbow ones. I suggest choosing just one or two colours if you want to give it a go otherwise you'll be hungry! Haha.
