Been a while since I've joined one of Splinterlands challenges, but given a very recent battle and this week's prompt for the Community Engagement Challenge, I had to jump in!
So, Battle of the Forgotten Cards it is! Those cards that we think they're just crap, or the ones that even not being that bad, we end up never using, or even those decent cards but with only a very nuche utility! Well, I happened to use one of those very sucessfully a couple hours ago!

In fact, I think it was the first time I ever used it! I don't play death splinter that often, and although this card has decent speed and attack, a high mana and low HP don't make it that useable... unless you find a decent set of rules for it, and that's what happened on this battle:

Three rulesets on this battle:
- Lost Legendaries, so no legendary cards on the battlefield
- Odd ones out, only cards with odd mana allowed
- Super Sneak, all cards have the sneak ability
I normally go for fire, water or life splinters in Super Sneak rulesets, but the other two rulesets make a lot of good cards in water splinter unusable; so only death and earth splinters to choose besides water, and death it was! There are a lot of good cards with odd mana in death splinter, including the Possessed Puppet:
- Double Strike
- Cripple
- Dispel
Three useful abilities, together with a 4 melee attack and 5 speed! Seemed a very good fit for the team, and I wasn't wrong! My only concern would be some card with torns in the opponent's backline: with only 5 HP, this cards is kind of squishy. Fortunately, that wasn't the case!
My opponent chose a pretty decent water team, but left a rather exposed backline, especially with this ruleset. The result?

Possessed Puppet claiming its first victim on the first round, striking after the Sha-Vi.
The thorns on the Ever-Hungry Skull I had on last position caused a lot of damage, and the Sha-VI speed and piercing helped pave the way for more strikes from the Puppet; on round two, there were already 3 cards down from the opponent's team, and Nerissa reduced to 4 HP!

Comes round three, and guess who delivered the killing blow?

Never thought this would be a useful card, but given its stats and the 8 melee damage per round, it was a great fit in this death team! Just comes to show that every card is worthwhile getting, since there might be an occasion where a "mediocre" card is just perfect!

Is this card one that you usually go to? With all the different strategies, maybe someone out there shows more love for this card than I do. Let me know!
See you on the battlefield! ;)

Possessed Puppet can be really good, especially in a ruleset where it can attack from the backline.
But my problem with the card is its low health points, because it often dies because of enemy thorns cards.
Exactly! I decided to risk it here since given the ruleset the chances of cards with thorns was lower. and fortunately it worked.
