I feel fear is just a signal that we have causal beliefs, thoughts and imprints which are causing the fear to exist at all.. When this is understood, the emotions can breathe a sigh of relief as we learn not to hold them responsible for what they have little ability to change. The thinking mind often likes to think it is not the cause of the things it doesn't like, but we need to change that and bring the unconscious into consciousness - meditations can certainly help clear our way there, yes.
