Dollar Vigilante Is Now Supporting HIVE via Vigilante.TV!

They tried to censor us. When that failed, they tried to silence us completely. So we created https://Vigilante.tv , a.k.a “Land of the Banned” - a decentralized video platform for content creators who were banned from regular social media for believing people should have ALL the information – not just the chosen official narrative.

Now, The Dollar Vigilante has gone one step further. By enabling Hive on Vigilante.TV the original authors of videos can earn rewards, but even better… you can make money by liking and commenting on our videos!

Log in with your Hive account to earn Hive Tokens when you like and comment! Also follow https://peakd.com/@tdvtv for the latest videos on our platform - from deep state exposés by Max Igan and James Corbett, to the real story behind the story from anarcho-capitalist Jeff Berwick.

Here’s a novel idea: How about we allow “the people" to be the censors of our own society?

The standard in the hive is original content every time.
No recycling.
Plagiarism is the ultimate sin.

IF you set rewards to burn or decline for the videos not created and shared by the original author everybody will be much happier.

If you keep posting the videos of others and don't decline or burn rewards, that is an issue sure to bring out the mean in certain whales that care about this issue.
In order to show respect to the others that did this before you, we can treat you no different than we treated them.
That means that your rewards will be downvoted and your reputation will take a hit.

Please stop profiting from the works of others.
The 10% beneficiary is not a problem for me, you bring eyeballs to the content and that has value.
But, those videos by people that don't have accounts, and don't get set as a beneficiary, will likely see their rewards adjusted to the community norm.
Why would we want to reward somebody that can't be bothered to have an account with us?

Nothing personal, just business.

I think you are missing the point of vigilante.tv (and maybe even the token) Look at the creators original content, they are even linking back to their channels and get's paid. By downvoting you are only preventing the content creators from getting paid. For us it is not about earning crypto on the platform at all but creating a video platform where there is actual freedom of speech. Some of the creators we have has been deplatformed on YouTube etc.

What I am not missing is the long history of abusing the reward pool by sockpuppet accounts and the community's response to that.

It's great that you bring new eyes to the content and hive, but not at the expense of authentic content creators already here.
The reward pool is a commons.
The rewards that go to non-authentic content are taken from the lowest earning authentic creators.
That has been deemed not acceptable by the community and we downvote this type of abuse when we find it.

A simple solution to this is to burn, or decline, rewards for videos from creators that can't be bothered to get an account.
If those creators that don't link to us on their other media outlets and can't be bothered to get an account because they don't care about the rewards then why would they object to our zeroing of their rewards?
They don't care about the rewards, right?
Their content will be here whether they get rewards, or not.

Burning/declining rewards really is a simple ask.
It precludes any accusations of ya'll plagiarizing to benefit yourselves and as you say it makes no difference to those not concerned with the rewards.

I saw this on vigilante.tv but didn't know what to make of it.
Comments from HIVE showing up there, but i could not figure out where HIVE votes were actually going.

All the videos are posted by @tdvtv

Some videos are also posted about by the creators actual HIVE account.

So, are you breaking out all the @tdvtv payouts, and sending them to the original creators?

Creators get 90% of the paouts from vigilante.tv if they have a Hive account.

And if they don't? Do you just pocket the money and exploit these often deplatformed individuals for your own benefits?

We encourrage them to create an account (take a look at how many Hive accounts we reffer helping to expand the platform). If they don't want to we use the funds to help with servers and development. A lot of the creators don't even want the tokens but are happy with all the new viewers they get and the links to their sites and content. No one has ever requested to be taken off and if they would we would do so emediately.

There's literally no proof of your claim.

Have you heard or read any complaints form a single creator?

Hive ain't big enough to be noticed. Quick pretending we are some massive platform. It is often easy to hide and reap from content creators who have no idea Hive exists.

There is no proof whatsoever that you guys aren't the ones controlling these content creators' "accounts" in a long-strung launder scheme.

Until I see them putting Hive profile links on their main platform(s), I don't believe a single word you say.

From my cynical years of experience on this chain, I doubt the actual content creators are as involved as they claim they are.

Some of them are happy to syndicate their content (which is not a bad thing) and just post on Hive regardless of engagement.

The "handlers" on Hive's side reap all the benefits whether or not the content creators know their content is being monetized without their knowledge or permission.

Much hope. Much cynasism. That describes HIVE.... or the beginning of Steem.
I am glad you are asking the tough questions.

Most of the content creators of these videos, just push to HIVE/Steem along with pushing to all the other platforms.
Rarely any discussion in the comments. Rarely any direct feedback.

A lot of times, they don't even bother to mention Hive on their About page or their list of social media.

It makes you wonder what they are ashamed of. Or is it because of taxes? If so, when those 87K IRS agents drop over a period of 10 years, you'll be audited for other stuff one way or another.

Yeah, i had to dig a little... then find that the back end was a HIVE product... and then...

However, this group has always done things kinda never professional level.
They are a jump in and do it... and solve the problems later kind of group.

Hey @enforcer48, here is a little bit of BEER from @isnochys for you. Enjoy it!

Did you know that you can use BEER at dCity game to **buy dCity NFT cards** to rule the world.

That is understandable. The HiveTube plugin we developed for Vigilante.tv which is a peertube instance is not really integral to our goals with the platform but just a way for viewers and content creators to earn a little. The the way Hive is set up forces every video that is added to vigilante.tv to appear on peakd which is unfortunate. If there was a way to avoid that and only have it appear on our platform I would do it. So far the only way would be to fork Hive and I don't really want to develop that right now.

A couple of suggestions that would make things more believable:

  • You need a believable way that their presences are verified.

For example, I can't even find any mention of Hive when I jump to @pressfortruth's many social media pages. That really doesn't make me feel confident about this content creator's presence on Hive (and I don't know if they are involved with you guys. It's just an example.)

PeakD does have a badge system you guys could use to let people know when a creator is verified. How that vetting process work is another story.

  • Rewards on content where the author is not on Hive should probably be burned (which still allows curators to earn their shares). You can take a small percentage if you want.

Better yet, it would be cool if you guys could send the proceeds to those creators without accounts. They might eventually come to Hive.

It doesn't seem right to have you guys reap 100% of the rewards from those without accounts. The incentives there scream making sure that particular creator doesn't get an account (especially if it gets whale support) so you guys can still take all the rewards instead.

It always bothers me greatly when other people's content is pumped out here and we can only rely on some folks' words that they are being honest with the funds.

My philosophy has always been, "when money is involved, assume nobody is honest until they can prove otherwise".

I want to emphasize that the problem is not how the videos display on PeakD (or any frontends). It's the way the rewards are being allocated that some folks find suspicious.

Those are good points and something we DO think about. For now we ask creators to link to their channel on vigilante.tv / dollarvigilante.tv in their video description like here from Sat Yoga (

Regarding people without accounts we ask them to create one but some doesn't want to yet. I suggested @kencode who programmed HiveTube and talks to some of the whales that they could just tell use where to send 100% of the funds of creators who does not have an account which I think would be a good solution that I would implement instantly!

Your speech is protected on Hive.
Say anything.
The Hive network will not mind.

Yes, that is a good thing. It has been good to use for our commenting on Vigilante.tv, my only concern with Hive is that it will go the same way as Steemit and end up as spam world where a few whales dictate what can happen stifeling innovation. Vigilante.tv is using Hive in an awesome way. If the Hive community would get behind innovations like this the token would move forward, get more users and increase in value.

Not exactly. Try to be a big fish too.
