Bad Weather = Good Books

For quite a few folks around the world it is that time of the year when they get their Halloween costumes out of the closet and just trick or treat the whole street while others rely on the Holiday to hook up with some sexy resurrected nurse or an American Vampire, depending on the gender and sexual orientation. There's no such thing as American vampires by the way, they're all Romanian and you can find them outside Transylvania too.

Being a Romanian that doesn't celebrate almost anything, not even his birthday, I won't wear any such costumes and more over I will not start celebrating a Holiday that's not even ours, as a folk. I am celebrating, if I may put it this way, my reincarnated taste for reading today.

It's been almost half a year since I haven't bought any new book to entertain my intellect but today I had my treat without any tricks. Just two hours ago the delivery guy came with my small package and left with a small tip while I was holding in my hands the books I ordered about two days ago. The delivery went faster than I was expecting and I'm happy I have them for the weekend.

Now, if you are not a Romanian, and chances are that you aren't, you won't get too much the titles of the books from the pic. One hint before I disclose them: all psychological stuff. Yeah, I still regret not going to Psychology instead of Journalism, but it is a bit late for regrets and I am a bit lazy to get to college again. I feel old and dated and my brain just craves for easy money instead of hard work.

So, to have a bit of bloody taste on what lays on my desk and what I'm going to read for the next one-two weeks, it's The Molecule of More: How a Single Chemical in Your Brain Drives Love, Sex, and Creativity―and Will Determine the Fate of the Human Race, then you have Buddha's Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love, and Wisdom and the last one is Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion, Revised Edition. Have I picked them right?

Of course I did. I always do that. Now, two questions might pop up in the comments section from you guys, if you get to read the post. Numero uno: why haven't you bought the English versions? Because I still think, speak and eat Romanian. The second might be: why not kindle sir?. I don't own one and as long as paper books will exist I will read paper books. I'm stubborn and I embrace only the tech I really feel necessary. Period.

I know that I mentioned it will take me to read all three books about one-two weeks but seems that weather is helping me do that even faster. It's almost constant rain in here, which I hate, and since I don't have a job I get bored a lot, thus I might run through pages and get to the finish line even sooner. Who knows.... I will start reading the dopamine one first for sure, because I am fascinated about this hormone and want to... somehow master it.

Then I'll learn persuasion, while reading the book dedicated to even more than once if the info doesn't get digested by my brain from the first time, so I can get at least one person that I know in real life to join Steem and I won't be the only one anymore at the table discussing about it once in a while and actually living Steem. For now though I will end this long blog post and open the world of books that I missed so much. I used to eat them when I was a kid but then I got the taste of junk food and other flavors and books just became a dust magnet on a shelf... or two.

Thanks for attention,
Adrian

Those books look very interesting and I would like to read them as well, in English though.

I hate to break it to you though there is no such thing as easy money in journalism! 🤣🤣🤣
