I was never the protagonist to this but a companion
I can relate to this personally..
It's pretty hard these days to see poems one can relate to..

Awesome, haha. You've got quite a dry sense of humour in a lot of your pieces and it always gets me...
The stanza just afterward is wonderful too, the imagination fading, the wizard stepping back - great images which capture that sense of reversal through time.
