Entry 36

Elba knocks a pitter patter on the front door. Rearranging her frock she flips her golden brown hair over her ears.

'Ok Elba. Don't ruin this one darling. You're going to do just fine. They're just a bunch of woman like yourself'.

The front door swings open. A plump woman stands erected in front of Elba. Her taught face pulled back past her jaw. The plastic surgery not really fooling anyone that she's clearly well past her prime.

'Oh! Elba! What a surprise. I thought you weren't going to make it?'

'No NO', Elba replies. 'Scotty got home from work early and decided to look after the rat bags. It's a girls night tonight'

Franz raises the corners of her mouth in an attempt to smile. The facelift pulling her face too tight that she can muster a fake smile.

Franz leads Elba into the main room where six other woman are waiting. All sipping tea, all with a book on their lap.

'Girls look who it is! Elba has arrived...'

The woman look at each other unsure of what their response should be. One mutters, 'So glad we've let girls from the east side come to play'.

Elba sits down. Nervous to make a good first impression she ask, 'So how long have we all been a part of the book club for?'

The woman immediately snap their necks and dart their eyes towards Elba.

'Excuse me?', Franz replied. 'What is the primary rule of book club girls?'

'There is no book club', the chant back fervantly.

#Freewrite

Every now and again I write for 5 minutes continuously and do not stop until the timer runs out. What you read is a stream of words coming out all at once. No editing, no worrying. I find this creates amazing stories as you just have to let the words take you, rather than force them out. Enjoy.
