RE: What I Really Think of Steem - Truth Talk

in #freewrite5 years ago

@justineh can you please make a post explaining why "burn" posts and Mr. Potato head posts are lining up the trending page? And why we need to have theses posts? And why it's ok for them to not only get massive votes on autogenerated posts w/ very little proof of brain but they also add several comments for them to all vote as well ? Why can't a burn be built into the rewards system instead of having these shitposts clutter the trending page? And why can they get away with it but if anyone else does these things they get flagged to zero ? Just because they say they are helping STEEM doesn't give them a right to abuse unless there is a double standard and we must "do as they say not as they do"! Do the ends justify the means?

Well while I agree that they look like crap on the trending page, I’ll say they are a bit different than most posts as the rewards are being “burned”. Which means they are being taken out of the supply, making the STEEM we all hold worth a little bit more. As scarcity adds value.

I do agree that having a burn mechanism built into the system would be much better (or a decrease in inflation), but currently this is what we have.

Steempeak.com does give a much better experience than trending.

Let me know if that helps, I can do a detailed post on the rewards pool, inflation, and why burn posts are beneficial if it would help.

Thanks for the response and also I think I will be heading over to Steempeak! I think an educational post on the rewards pool would be great for everyone. It can be quite confusing but I have learned a great deal discussing this with various STEEM members. Thank You !
