This is my 10th attempt in FreeWriting conducted by @mariannewest. I really like how she has spiced things up by composition of 3 prompts into 1 and writing for 15 minutes. It is quite a challenge and might give it a try next time. You might want to check out recent prompt in this post.
Weekend Freewrite -2/1/2020 - Single Prompt Option
We are currently living in age of consumer culture. Not the problem per se, but it is something I think needs to be pointed out. It is more than a trend that has become ubiquitous in consumer society.
The problem with advertisers is that they see people as an impulse buy so they supply ads and images that, if not consumed, will trigger a desire for the products that adorn that person's persona. It's a kind of psychotherapy for the mind that I think is a direct consequence of the so called lifestyles of the individual. In a way, I think it also helps us understand that it's not that we crave these types of things, it's that we are lured into an environment where we find comfort in those things.
It can be said that our bodies are not the result of our actions or desires but it is easy for advertisers to create images of empowerment and health that feel good to consumers. When something looks appealing but doesn't feel good, it produces.
The truth is, our bodies do not feel good, and when we are feeling the discomfort that comes with eating disorders and weight concerns, we subconsciously assume that it must be not good. But it is – it is our subconscious mind's way of trying to protect itself.
Further, when we feel better, we often put on some pounds in response to that pleasure. This is where the physical activity portion of the equation comes in. It is the protein, carbohydrates and calories we consume, in combination with the time we spend on
