Weekend Freewrite - 12/7/2019- Single Prompt Option

I have always been a carnivore, up until a few years ago. I must admit that I'm advancing in age and therefore, I would need to be more conscious of my food intake. In the past, it was my mom who would once in a while remind me to eat my greens. Nowadays, that's no longer true.
The cover photo is one of my attempts to eat healthy. From the ingredients that we had on hand one Christmas eve, I made my own healthy salad version from romaine lettuce, cucumber, and kiwi. It's a good thing too that we had that salad dressing that no one was using. Eat healthy and waste no food. How good is that, huh?
It has been a long time and I can't even remember where but I tried this healthy drink when we ate out. It's made of fresh pineapple and kale shaken together. That's one thing I would want to learn, make green smoothies from the comfort of home.
I tried this for dinner at a salad bar once. It's made from carrots, cucumber, kani (crabstick), and mango. Mmmm I thought it was truly yummy. Surprisingly, it's also filling. Before I have taken a fancy at eating salads, I thought they were too light for meals and that I wouldn't feel full. I later on realized I was wrong.
Here's another salad combination that I put together one Saturday night. I mixed together lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and added some canned tuna. Voila! A healthy dinner when I didn't feel like cooking at all. Of course, it's timely that we had the veggies on hand.
Then there's the bitter gourd. I used to react violently when Mom would ask me to eat this dish. I later on learned about its health benefits. I decided that being healthy is more important, so I overcame my dislike for this veggie dish.

The crab salad above looks similar to Vietnamese Spring Rolls except that it doesn't wrapped in rice paper. Cucumber and lemon shake is the best too!
Oh, I love cucumber lemonade. Some restaurants here offer such drink. We like Pho Hoa for Vietnamese dishes. I haven't tried the fresh spring rolls, but the fried ones are our favorite! ^_^ thanks for dropping by!
