Sticking her toes out of the water, Margaret was desperately searching for a moment of silence.
Her five kids and awkward husband Dale gave her little to look forward to each day. Despite the bleak and dull nature of her life, Margaret was generally happy as long as she was given enough time and space to enjoy the little comforts of life, like a nice warm bubble bath and a good book.
Margaret was reading a book on the 20 most famous unsolved murder cases. As she read through the book, she imagined herself as a character in each of the 20 cases. Sometimes she was the murder victim who had left behind little clues that she hoped someone would put together to solve her murder. In other cases she was the murderer who had carefully planned out the deed and had been able to get away with it by outsmarting the police for decades after the murder.
“Mommy, what are you doing?” Margaret heard on the other side of the door along with the sound of fists pounding against the old wooden door.
It looked like story time was over. “Until the next bath,” whispered Margaret to her book of unsolved murders.

I sooooo can relate. With little kids, story time is short. For sure!
Yeah! I was thinking of my wife for some inspiration while writing. We only have two, but she barely gets a break.
