"Would you want one or two lumps of sugar?" I asked as I reach for the sugar bowl by the table. The smell of the briskly boiling tea started to waif in on a cool summer afternoon breeze.
He was the brother of my mother. An Uncle that rarely visited but often heard about. They said he had some trouble in his head and would often go out and be alone while he had problems.
He was here visiting mom. Most likely to ask for money again. After his self-destructive hiatus he usually needs a lot of money. Since he does have any job. He can't keep one it seems because of all of his issues.
Mom would give him all that she has always. It's for family she always says.
He sits mute in the counter. eyes looking at nothing. I ask again how many lumps he wants and he said two. I drop in two lumps as well as two teaspoonful of poison for good measure.
It's for the family.
