I never saw anyone with a talent for baseball like Peter. It wasn't just baseball, but pitching. In all the time I played Little League he was a legend, as a pitcher. It didn't take long for us to start calling him, "Pit." That was why it was so sad when he froze.

It happened one day in the middle of a game. The batter strode up to the plate. You could see the fear in his eyes. He was going up against Pit.

And then it happened. Pit froze. It was like someone had tied his hand to his side. The chant went up from his teammates, then from the audience.

"Throw the ball, Pit."

Over and over again. But that was it, the end of Pit's stellar Little League career. He never pitched again.

Written in response to the Tuesday Freewrite, Ball Pit.

This was so much fun. I came in a little under 5 minutes.
