I've retweeted this - and my sympathy to all who have a loved one suffering from dementia.
First my mother-in-law. Now, my dad.
My mom refuses to put him in a home. He's a full-time job, like a toddler, getting into mischief, losing things, putting house keys into tractor ignitions, and diesel into a kerosene heater. She refuses to move. He would need a small army to subdue him and force the old farmer off the farm. Better to be a paraplegic than to live in a body with out a working brain. Or better... no. No matter how old our parents are, who can imagine the final goodbye??
Thank you for a thoughtful post - and what a great illustration!

I am honored that you enjoyed and appreciated it. It is certainly challenging to deal with this type of situation, but parents deserve all the support they can get. I am so sorry that in your family it is happening, it must be very hard.
A hug, dear @carolkean.
