I’m not a fisherman but know 100 kilos of fish would be a hellva lot of fish...maybe over 200 Lbs. To catch that many fish you would need more than a fishing rod!
Although I came from a family of hunters and people who loved to fish, I have not caught a fish since going with my father when I was about eleven years old.
When I was younger Dad worked as a Game Warden or what is referred to as a Forest Ranger nowadays. He loved the great outdoors and taught me the names of the trees and about the spruce gum he picked off the spruce to chew when he was a child.
Recently there was the untimely death of a young father and his seven year old son in a canoe accident here on the Island. No one really knows what happened to cause the canoe to upset.
This episode brought to mind that last fishing trip with my father where we were in a canoe. He kept telling me to sit still or we would upset it. I stood up and as Dad predicted we were in the water. Lucky we weren’t far from the shore and my father was able to turn it over.
As for getting 100 kilos of fish that day...I don’t think we even got one!
My entry to #freewrite with the prompt 100 Kilos of fish.
Photo above was taken when I spotted some anglers casting their rods in a pond close to the highway.

Nice little story you just wanted to upset the canoe just to see what would happen the curious little girl...lol :)
Thanks @hangin. I wondered if the same thing happened with the canoe accident where the father and his young son perished.
You just will never known but very sad indeed that's why always listen to dad or mom :)
It is a mystery how it happened. The father was running in the recent elections in P.E.I. He was a teacher and avid sportsman. They had life jackets on but the Hillsborough River water was still very cold as we just came out of our winter season. Maybe the cold water was too much or he hit his head .
That is seriously sad those two scenarios sound very likely what could have happened.
Uncle Bruni has never heard the term "upset" a canoe, and I'm old. 😁
I guess the correct term would be tip over? Overturn? ‘Using ‘upset’ to mean the canoe is upside down in the water is probably a colloquialism I heard growing up.
I like the term. I'm gonna use it from now on. 👍
