Jimmy’s trip to the red planet was to be the ride of his or any man’s lifetime. And as his feet landed on the ground there was an infinite plane of homogeneous red color from one end of the firmament to the other. This was a barren planet, into which the only human had just arrived, and the sense of adventure was definitely there. But the days rapidly filled with something very different; even the people, peculiarly quiet after the first days of common joy like children awakened with the desire for Christmas. Jimmy begins to understand that he is completely alone on the Mars, and there are no other people and no other things that can occupy hi The loneliness was complete but with each dawn and dusk, he got consolation in the marvel and aloneness of his weird new world.
