Light Years???
My Monday morning typically begins with opening a 3D modeling software called Rhinoceros. When I start a new file - I open the "units" window to assign the model "world" to metric or imperial... but today I looked a little further down the list of options and found all sorts of measurement types that I never knew existed...!
HOLY COW! What have I been doing all this time!? All of a sudden, feet and inches look so antiquated... (they made no sense to begin with, but I'll get into that another day). Here's just a few that I can chose from :
- Nautical Miles
- Astronomical Units
- Light Years ???
- Parsecs
- No Units (very meta)
My modeling Monday just got interesting...
Fellow Steemians,
What is another unit of measurement missing from this list...??
Cryptoyear.
We shall make a definition for it still. Could by conventional time divided by PI?
I dig it.
It's a joke from developers :-)
Why the surprise? Someone could be making a model of the galaxy, or even just our local stellar neighborhood.
Rhino ah the joys of a nurbs modeler.
Beam me up Scotty! :)
This makes the logistics of modeling space stations far simpler ;)
