in #gamedev7 years ago (edited)

Game development could be frustrating at times especially for indie game developers.Since there are usually many aspect(content/assets creation, finding a perfect game story, programming etc) involved in the game development process, it is virtually impossible for a newbie developer to productive without wasting valuable time searching for assets on the internet. So I decided to compile a list of few places game developers could look to for assets.

The first place to look
Almost all game engines now have a marketplace that are constantly being updated with new contents daily,so the first place to look for game assets either free or premium is the game engine market place.
Then.....
Craftpix

Craftpix offers high quality 2D graphics ranging from gui, tilesets, icons, sprites, that can be used to create arcade, strategy, platformers, RPGs and any other type of games you have in mind. Their paid assets are fairly affordable with many under $5,they also have a large collection of free high quality graphics.

Gamedevmarket
Gamedevmarket have both 2D and 3D game assets. Most assets on this site are premium assets.

Opengameart
Opengameart have a rich database of both 2D and 3D graphics. What set open gameart apart is that virtually all contents on the site are free to download and use can be use for commercial purposes. It also has an advance search feature and a rich collection of tags to quickly locate contents.

3dmodelsandtexture

This site has game assets ranging from 3d models, textures, sound effects, 3D city pack, music, animations to 2D game assets, that can be used to create various game genres such as sci-fi,medieval,fantasy or cartoon.Assets on the site are majorly premium asset, but some free assets can be found on the site.

Thanks very much on the tip about proper crediting of resources used, guessed I thought it was not necessary since I got the Image from the websites I was talking about.I will soon update the post and I will do proper justice to them. Thanks again

Oh I meant when incorporating assets into one's projects.

But sure - it doesn't hurt to be a little extra safe about crediting resources. Thanks again for sharing!
