Unreal 4 - RPG Template Release

in #gaming8 years ago

I go over all details of my RPG template project I created awhile back. I make sure to explain what I did right and what I did wrong. Its a very interesting project with a lot of ideas in place. Its definitely worth grabbing it to see what I did. Enjoy!

Well for one thing tackling a FPS is a bit easier than a RPG... not as many systems required. Unreal also rocks at FPS right out of the box.

Congratulations again for your work Castle! Thanks for sharing it!

Cool tutorial by the way... now I need to go back and look at some of your older stuff... I thought you were just messing with Doom and things like that. ;)

Doom has been my current focus for awhile but its definitely not all I do.

Are you trying to recreate Doom, or were you just playing it? I haven't really checked those out. If you are actually coding it in UE4 then that might be pretty cool. I thought you were simply playing it, and I've been there, done that so that's mainly why I wasn't paying attention.

I am one of the two authors of No Rest For the Living and I am currently working on a new Doom 2 level that takes full advantage of all the latest community made features for Brutal Doom and GZDoom.

I had no idea that Doom still had people actively developing stuff for it.

Its surprisingly active still!
