The cherry one is interesting. I've tasted it at a Farmers Market, but it tasted mostly like a sweet plum to me. Size: the best is to plant bare root trees (a rootstock grafted with the type of fruit tree you want) in the early springtime. You can get them from most plant nurseries.

I was rather shocked also, but these trees grow fast.
