MODIFYING MY GARDEN TO IMPLEMENT NEW IDEAS

in #gardening6 years ago

It's time to apply me new ideas!

Each day seems to be a new day to think, consider, evaluate and apply. This time, it was applying some recent concepts that I thought up out in my garden.

GARDEN MODIFICATION VIDEO

BRAINSTORM & APPLY

If you happened to see this video when I share about the best way ever to combine using trellises with raised bed gardening then you know that I came up with a really great space saving idea. As I contemplated this concept, I found some room for improvement in my existing garden area.

before

The basic idea that I came up with was to use trellises over the walkways in-between the raised beds, rather than having raised beds under the trellises. As I looked at where I am growing our Chinese Red Noodle Beans, I saw some room for improvement, and for a raised bed.

after

I'll continue to evaluate my existing garden area in case there are more places for improvement, but I'll also be considering all these ideas as I move forward and continue to add onto our garden. There is a lot to get done, and there will always be room for improvement, but learning from experience is always worthwhile, as long as you are learning. Steem on my friends!

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Hey @papa-pepper I just saw the post you did of the tiny mantis back in June. Thanks for the post man! Sorry I missed it

Wow! Not sure how you stumbled on it now, but I'm glad that you found it! I guess I should have SPAM commented on some of your posts, LOL! Maybe next time!

I was showing a co-worker info about the blockchain. I decided to look up my profile in a Google search and your post popped up in the second result. I was like WTF, how did I miss that? It's interesting how many people don't know anything about the blockchains so I'm trying to teach people now.

Also, if someone is prominent enough on the platform I don't think anything they post is spam. And I believe in upvoting yourself as much as you want as long as you are bringing something worthwhile to the table.

The SPAM thing was a joke, but I do know what you are saying. Also, I've stumbled upon all sorts of stuff when doing searches later too. I guess you finding some random post made "in your honor" is a good sign of community and friendship here, so maybe that helped show a bit about the personal level of interaction within our community to your co-worker. Explaining it all can be a daunting task!

Definitely my friend and I guess I was saying that I would have been okay with @papa-pepper's SPAM and especially since it would have been in my honor

love your use of the rocks and I think the idea of putting you trellises over the walkway is great, my brother has something like that at the entrance to his house and its all overgrown and so its annoying to walk through all the time but in the garden it would be a good use of space because then you are really using all the space including the walkway, you can just walk along in the shade picking beans from overhead, nice.

Oh yeah, harvesting in the shade, in my "walk-thru!"

now I am thinking this path should be golf cart/ tractor width.

looking good! Im new to gardening so it feels like I am constantly rethinking how I planted things, digging them up and rearranging.

I know that feeling! Just keep at it and let them grow!

Nice! Love the garden brother! Baby steps... right? If you don't know of the Gary Pilarchik and the rusted garden over on youtube check him out. I've learned loads from him over the years. He's not here on steemit but maybe we can convert him ;)

Interesting. I haven't heard of him, but it sounds promising! Thanks for the tip!

Yeah man, you bet. He's got a ton o' vids on just about everything. He's just a guy who gardens in his backyard with a YT channel. Enjoy.

Offcourse , it's always possible improvements.
Saving space is a good idea.
Keep learning new things.

another brilliant strategic move papa-pepper!

only smart people like you who are close to success ,,, have new idea idea and keep moving apply it ,,, result will not lie effort.

I really like your ideas! I think I’m going to try this concept for my garden next year. I already planned on raised beds and trellises, but I think I’m going to do it the way you have it here! There will be a lot of garden prepping this fall, for the following spring!

Oh yeah! Prepare for planting in the spring! Glad to know you think it's a good idea!

amazing the great job you are doing in your garden dear friend @ papa-pepper
Congratulations

Every time I look at the awesome ideas you have for your gardens and see the results, I can't help but have a little garden envy! I really love what you have done with that space since we saw it first. And our family is enjoying the fruits of your labours. BTW, how did the second batch of dried cucumber chips taste?

Second batch was marinated overnight, and tasted better. Third batch will be using real dill fresh from the garden. I just picked some late tonight, so I'll probably dehydrate in the morning. Interesting that we had the same ideas, and it leads me to believe that means it'll work!

Perfect! I am so glad that it worked better for you. When I make pickles I always use fresh dill. In the fall (before the rainy season begins for me) I dehydrate my fresh herbs from the garden so I have them on hand later for cooking and making teas.
