"A friend is, as it were, a second self"...Cicero
For the past two weeks I was down and needed to turn it down a notch while undergoing treatment (nah dear, not covid related). Went off social media too and it was somewhat refreshing, really.
Notwithstanding, a particular acquaintance of mine noticed this in quite a short time and made it a point of duty to consistently put a call across to me. After each talk, I always felt this overwhelming sense of love and it was a different feeling for someone that rarely fell ill and had little or no idea on what a sick call felt like, lol.

At one point it occurred to me that, yeahh, doing this for friends when they breakdown or need a shoulder to rest on is one thing, but being on the receiving end feels kinda nice too!
We humans most times yearn for affection, and truth be told, we feel extra special when it comes from an unexpected source but deeply hurt when we don't get it from a familiar source.
Nevertheless, try serving this plate of kindness and care towards people around whom you feel are in need of it because this goes a long way most of the time.
The little gestures matter, always! Make that phone call, send that text to check up, and try to remember those special events (I suck at this but my calendar and social media apps helps save the day often).
