Wow! I didn’t know that the dialect can be so different from Hoch Deutsch. As someone who only learnt Deutsch from language course, i’m sure i wont be able to understand a thing.
In Malaysia, each state has different dialects too. And it sounds totally different from our national language. Also, like me who comes from an ethnic group, we have our own language as well, and it is called Kenyah language 😊

I started learning German in Malaysia in 2015. 2016, i flew to Germany and by june, i got my C1 certificate. So it has been 3 years since i started learning German. But now that i stopped going for German language class, i think my german has deteriorated ☹️
