What's with Wheat? - documentary review

in #gluten7 years ago

Have you been considering altering your diet or wondering what the hell all this gluten stuff is about? Well, in short it is fairly complicated, but the main point is the kind of wheat being grown and consumed is not the same kind previously raised, and our ancestors didn't eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well! The food system promoted by the U.S. is driven by dollars and based on growing cheap wheat, corn, and soybeans and trying to stuff it and modify it into nearly every product on the market.

This documentary explains more elegantly why so many have difficulty with wheat and other ingredients in our industrial commodity food chain. The hybrids of wheat today are grown to resist pests, not to aid your digestion. If we consume diets void of nutrition and that deplete the natural biotic flora of our gut we are left with the chronic diseases that the big pharma pill pushers welcome and depend on. In short, we have everything backwards... we need to spend more on healthy food as an investment in ourselves and less on healthcare dependency after our bodies are already messed up!

Overall, regarding health, each of us is different and needs a diet tailored to our particular personal and cultural traits. However, there is consensus that much more vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, and quality protein is needed. Biological pathways are complex, subtle, and function with proper, intelligent eating habits. Yet our history of idiotic "food pyramids" and corporate food culture has left us in the sad state of health we are in. Like so many facets our culture, we need to deleverage from the corrupting influence of monetary, marketed, mass consumer culture and rediscover our healthy roots in natural foods. Check out "What's with Wheat?" (available on netflix) to take a step in that direction.

Hi!

If you refer to @lottobot's introductory post you will see full instructions for using the service, as well as a complete description of what it is. @lottobot is a lottery, meaning that every post that is entered has a chance to receive a 100% upvote. You entered a post in lottery #96 (according to @lottobot's history here: https://steemd.com/@lottobot) which had 2 other entries. The winner of the lottery you participated in was this post by @spidersprog. Because you were not the only entrant in lottery #96, you were not guaranteed to receive an upvote from @lottobot.

@lottobot would not be able to give everyone a 100% upvote (it would quickly deplete its voting power), which is why it randomly selects a post to vote on from a pool of entrants every 2.5 hours. Again, this is fully explained in the introductory article. Additionally, @lottobot is open-source and freely available for anyone to inspect. You can refer to its GitHub repository to see the source code, if you like. That way you can see for yourself that what I am saying holds true.

So, in short, no @lottobot is not a scam. It is a totally transparent, open-source, game of chance on the Steem network :)

Thank you for using @lottobot!

Thanks man, I enjoy me some @lottobot, @schubes pointed it out to me / peace (-:
