As somebody who cannot read music I can't quite get my head around it all. I mean I can kinda read music...but it takes me about 4 seconds to work out individual notes .... and another 20 to find them on the guitar.

Practice makes perfect though right.

...another thing that I should "just try harder" with.

It all comes from practice. Have to make a map in your brain between what you see and what you play. A lot of classical music makes it easier by telling you what position to play and what fingers to use.

I often wonder if learning music notification is the similar to learning languages. I struggle with both!

It's more logical than language. Simple rules really. If little kids can learn it then I think anyone can
