Nice man!, classical guitar is so hard (for me!), this is really something i would like to learn... I may not be able to play complex stuff but at least i would like to play some basic, i should buy a classical guitar someday...
wow! thanx so much Steve, I'm honored! I know how hard is to play a piece without studying it before, even the simpliest one! (that's why I didn't record a audio file of it ;) )
I was. It's a skill I have to work on. I learned classical guitar many years ago, but don't often have to read music these days. I know some people find it scary, but it's not so hard to learn the basics and it's useful.
Sight reading is hard, but as all things it comes out with practice... Funny enough is that i cant read on guitar without a tab (i am very slow), but i do on the keyboard as i learned reading on piano when i was a kid
It definitely improves with practice. You need that mental map between the notes and the fretboard. I also play a lot from tab without thinking too much about what the notes are. It's probably better to understand what you are playing so you can make your own variations
As somebody who cannot read music I can't quite get my head around it all. I mean I can kinda read music...but it takes me about 4 seconds to work out individual notes .... and another 20 to find them on the guitar.
Practice makes perfect though right.
...another thing that I should "just try harder" with.
Sounds great Steve - looking forward to our little guitar adventure next week \m/
It all comes from practice. Have to make a map in your brain between what you see and what you play. A lot of classical music makes it easier by telling you what position to play and what fingers to use.
ah really hard to read handwritten notes.
Not written in "tab"?Reading grades is fine. especially if you play this piece for the first time.. I like it. congratulations :)
maybe later I can also play a song and record it :)
Well done, I have to say u did better than me :) When i looked at the score everything seemed easy but after picking the guitar up and tried a few bars i discovered his music is quite counter-intuitive.
I saw the notes by @paolobeneforti but am not good yet in playing guitar as am still in learning process but you really did a great work playing the notes with you classical guitar, good job @steevc
The rhythm is too slow boring, as you good to sing well, try to raise the rhythm with singing will be a wonderful clip as I did in the past, you talented my friend do not give up, @steevc
@steevc........such a great share that you post...........really its a sweet music,,,,so grateful for your friendliness.......also a big wish for paolobeneforti.........

I consider it a different skill to rock and it's something I'd like to do more of. I'll work on some pieces to post here.

It was my pleasure
It seems you were sight reading. Sight reading is always tough. :)

I often wonder if learning music notification is the similar to learning languages. I struggle with both!
It's more logical than language. Simple rules really. If little kids can learn it then I think anyone can
nice one!
still getting the hang of it?
next time post the notes here, too
we'll jam with you!
The music is linked from the post. I only saw it minutes before recording this
oh I misread
I got it now

Nice Studio3, even though I had to stay with the ear glue to the laptop :D
That for me is really difficult! I admire who try!

There are some interesting harmonies and the fingering was tricky at times. I could probably do better with more planning

This is a different type of music. Slow is not always boring. I'm not giving up on anything and I'll play what I like
